That's super slick! Nice job man. How do you like the Wolf box mirror? I actually looked at those and wondered if it might be something that could help my situation out
I loved it in the Taco. I didn't have windows in my cap so there was no seeing out the rear view mirror, so I mounted the camera to the rear door of the cap. It was roughly the same height as the mirror would sit, so it kept a good FOV (unlike when folks mount to the license plate frame, then it's too low). I also ran a camera on my trailer so when that was hooked up I could see behind it.

My only real complaint was the inability to dim the display dark enough at night. You can dim it, it just wasn't enough for my liking. I experimented with static cling tint but hadn't found that perfect percentage. I'll keep trying once I get the G930 installed in the Jeep.

The Alucab cap is my preference as well. Setup pretty much as Jaxmax described.
Like mine!

Then you can throw a tent up there and really enjoy the great outdoors! This was 2 weeks ago on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon!

How does it do with keeeping it dry? I looked at those and the Bestop Supertop too and I like the idea of it.

The Softopper is awesome at keeping your gear dry! We also just came out with our Exo Truck Bed Rack that works seamlessly with the Softopper and is great for any overland build! Below are some links on our website that might be helpful for you. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Rifle cases don't play an issue at all. It's only the rack itself. It's right where cars are.

My vote is for the alucab canopy as well. You seem to be heading that direction anyway. It provides not just rain cover but also security. You can access the interior of the bed via side doors. Its got a 300lb dynamic load and 600lb static or there about means you can mount a lot of stuff on the roof. There's cupboards and box slide accessories for extra organization and storage. Here's my north rim photo.

Well guys and gals, decision is made. I'm thinking the shell option works best for my needs overall. Until the double stroller is no longer needed it will just be more functional. And I wish time would slow down with these kiddos growing up so I'm not rushing that double stroller outta the bed any time soon. Here's a link to the rack. Help me spread the word if you know somebody looking for an awesome setup! And I know that more people are gonna be familiar with pelican cases than Nanuk, but for a substantial number of reasons I went with Nanuks and I can easily share those with anybody interested. These cases are great.

RSI , Alucab, Are, Leer , new fiberglass company forgot name but prop Lu e like them, even the Alibaba RSI knock off for $1200 with free shipping are all options. I have one of the first RSI caps that came in long ago. Very happy with it their customer service is excellent, they had aluminum hinges originally and went to a plastic one as corrosion was an issue, I called talked to a friendly guy told him my rear hatch door hinge broke and I’m leaving on a trip in four days , full set was at my house in plenty of time no charge.
BUT no matter what brand or material you get be sure to get flip up side windows , you can easily access the inside, I throw full size lawn chairs in through the side all the time, you will enjoy the extra room of the cap…..Jack

I second the Wolfbox tripro. I just installed it on mine. The installation was pretty simple and the picture quality is awesome.

Thank you! I expect you can share some off-roading footage recorded by the Tripro when you go off-roading! I believe people will love to see it.
