I don’t like being argumentative but installing catch can on a high mileage engine to prevent blow by is nothing more then a band aid fix.

What’s work?
I have never had one on any vehicle I have ever owned. Performed the required maintenance when it was due and never had any problems. I really do not think there is anything unique about the Jeep engine that would require a catch can so I will save my money for something else.
I had one once, homemade out of PVC because the Renix 4.0 in my MJ had been chowing dirt for two months and compression dropped to 90ish on all six holes. I knew engine was torched but…..like you said, a bandaid.

Catch cans don’t prevent blowby. If you have blowby, you’ll still have it with a can installed. It’s just capturing the oil so you’re not burning it and fouling up spark plugs, oxygen sensors. and cats.

It's not there to prevent or help fix a problem. It's there to help keep oil out of the intake system and not burning oil. Just read up on older motors like the 350z 3.6L and the titan 5.6L. Lots of sludge build up in the intake plenum and manifold Caused by blow back.

That can’t be true…….
Well true, I did have the Pentastar tick. That was fixed. Maybe a catch can could've caught that. But then I was at 80k when it went. Others I know that had the tick had less miles.

Ancient lore foretells a catch can would have fixed it…..

After 100 miles I'm sold it works. Might upgrade to the 6 ounce can.

Do what I did.
4ft x 1/2 drain hose with ball valve.
It doubled my capacity and easy to drain.
I never have oil in the can. Its all in the hose.
