Anyone have a loose rattle or popping from their interior trim? I can’t tell if the right freedom panel is loose or vibrating, or if plastic trim is loose.

it’s like a popping or loose rattle, when I go over bumps as if the top is flexing or the trim is flexing.

I got to be honest..... My truck is the best fit/finish of any jeep I've owned. I'm honestly impressed with this interior.

Yes. I've got some rattling near where the grab handle and top plastic trim piece meet. I visibly saw the misalignment though. The dealer ended up popping off the pieces, bent them back into shape and put them back on. Its not perfect, but it did help. I'll probably get another piece and redo it at some point.

I've found that the front, outside edges of the freedom panels are prone to rattling. On the driver's side panel, the front outside edge started rattling first. There's a little trough up there that accepts the freedom panel; my gasket had worn through to metal underneath and was rattling against the edge of the freedom panel.

On the other side of the same panel, another rattle developed on the inside edge where the top rests against the tab.

Took me forever to track them down as the acoustics of the cabin can make the sound seem to come from places it's not. Solved both with a small piece of Gorilla tape, just to put something between the hard surfaces.

Make sure that all the hex bolts are tight on the top and levers as well.

I had some rattling noise coming from back seat driver side. Turned out to be a slightly loose seat belt where it was banging lightly to the side. I was so annoyed I shoved that thing way back into the seat so it doesn't budge.

On another note, I do have little bit rattling noise when my windows are partly rolled down. Don't have a fix for this yet.

LOL my dealer said its a man made product so it's not going to be perfect. Aren't man made products usually more perfect than natural products? Think natural vs man made diamonds!

I feel like its sort of hit or miss if you purchase an FCA vehicle. Most of the some trim pieces may not be lined and rattle because of that. In addition, sometimes the interior products that sit next to each other can cause squeaking. I ended up fixing mine myself by unbolting the trim and bending it back the way it was supposed to be as it wasn't installed from the factory correctly.

I've also used this stuff https://www.amazon.com/J-V-Converting-FELT-06-BLK15-Polyester/dp/B00ZBH3QIU . It works wonders if you have two plastic pieces contacting each other.

For a week I was hearing the noise aka rattling coming from the back. Started happening out of the blue. It was driving me crazy so I spent an hour going through everything. Thought something may have been loose or sliding around. The find was exactly what you mentioned, the seat belt was ever so slightly tapping the pillar....problem solved!!!

Thanks! I'll try that. I am now convinced it is the freedom panel, near the upper bolt for the main hardtop. I have pretty much tried to insert foam pipe insulator into the trim where possible. Also when I take the tops off, the popping goes away.
Yeah if the sound goes away when you take the freedom panels off then it’s probably the weather seals.

Hello Onebigyoshi,
We are sorry to hear about your recent rattling noise that you have noticed. If you could please provide us with the model, make, and year of your Jeep I would be happy to take a further look into this from our end.

(sorry for mi english)i have the same rattle and they change the latch but still same probleme but i founded what cause this probleme and solve it.the freedome panel have a pin to align the hole and this pin make that sound so i just put heat shrink around the pin and put back on and no more sound.you probably need to do it avery time you take off the roof as it so tight the shink will broke avery time but not big deel to avoid that terible noise.
