That's an artist rendering which has been out for a good while.Where did you happen to see that photo?
This was the pic that actually looked quite lame and a little hideous IMOThat's an artist rendering which has been out for a good while.
Yes, Dakota is still planned. If I had to guess, Dakota will be available in more base trims than the JT to allow for full market coverage. So now with the Jeep Gladiator coming out is Dodge (FCA) still going to make a mid-size truck like they were talking about? The were calling it the Mini-Ram when I read the article but they really should just resurrect the Dakota name in my opinion.
Others have already poo poo'd away the notion that this is a legit photo... though I like your thinking. Last year for the JL release there just started being a TON of marketing/reviewing business happening in December after their LA Auto Show launch... I expect that to be the same this year.Thinking of timeline... If the big reveal is in a few weeks at the LA auto show, Jeep will want pics of the truck on the covers of every 4x4 magazine soon after with full tests. Mags have a lead time of almost 90 days.... so those pics of the 4 or 5 jeeps on the trail could have been a journalist event with nearly production ready trucks. Just a thought.

My contribution to debunking that brown truck shot is a) tiny back doors and b) it's a Sahara and it's looking like there won't be a Sahara, instead it'll be an Overland.
Ah that makes sense. I do look forward to hearing proper reviews of stuff asap. I don't think I'm planning to take the truck on the Rubicon, but... maybe they'll change my mind. (c:I was thinking about this event with pics / video...

Almost exactly 90 days prior to the LA Auto Show....
I predict stories in magazines that have a shelf date of 1 Dec.
Each time I look at these pictures, I can’t get over how OFF the proportions are in the truck bed as it relates to the centerline is the wheel. The rear overhang is so long! Forget departure angle, I’m talking just about looks right now...the brute and bruiser conversations are spot on in my opinion...I’m trying to get myself to not care about the bed so much...but it sticks out like a sore thumb to me right now....CRAP!!!!!I honestly could go with about 4-6 more inches of stretch on this thing! I love it, but rear wheels just seem a little too close for proportion sake. But, maybe a stretch would be easily done?
Like, how about that bruiser conversion JL crew @ SEMA...SICK and the perfect length in my opinion!
