I ordered a Black Rubicon on 6/22 and was told I had to have the spray in Bedliner with my Black Gladiator. I had been debating about it, and had decided not to get it but then was informed I didn’t have a choice. Luckily for me I didn’t care too much either way.

The regional sales rep told my dealer that I would not have to pay for it. I don’t know what the details are and I’m not trading anything in, so I going on there word for now. We will see.

The owner of the dealership informed me that they would eat the cost until he found out that I got employee pricing, than had a change of heart!

When my Dad ordered his max tow Sport S on 6-21, we were told that the bedliner had to be ordered. When he took delivery on 7-5, there was no bedliner in the Jeep. In all the business of trading in his other car (we expected to wait 4-6 weeks for the Jeep to deliver, so we were scrambled a little), we forgot to look and see if we were charged for the bedliner. After the sale, we saw that he did pay for the bedliner. The saleman is working with Jeep to pay for a local company to spray one in, which is fine with Dad. I was going to herculiner it for less than $100, but I'm not mad that it can be professionally sprayed in.

Had a dealer sale's person try to tell me they had to add certain options, had to get LEDs with bed liner and a few other funny ones. Automatic required because I got a hard top. And a few more silly things... but I asked for a new sales person and all is well. ...at least we'll see when it shows up, hopefully in the next week or two. If something is different, yea I'll walk. Gotta watch those sales guys they will definitely add stuff if they can just cuz.

How would you remove a factory spray in bed liner?

I thought they had to sand the paint to make it rough before applying the spray on Bed liner

There is a YouTube video of a Line-x dealer removing a factory bedliner and then installing the Line-x one. The factory just pulled right out. There was no sanding done. Factory just sprayed a bonding agent first. Also when I ordered the dealer could not add the factory bedliner which was fine as I wanted the one by line-x.

I Just got a call from Craig Benner of Koons Jeep of Tysons Corner, Virginia. They advised me that they had "accidentally" put a bed liner in and was only going to charge me their cost of about $600 for it. I explained that I did not want their liner and ask if they could take it out. I was told NO

That’s crazy. The MSRP on the factory bedliner is $495. I had received quotes for $500 for the Line-X bedliner. Tell Craig to “F off” and go find another dealer.

Yeah, that dealer is t as altruistic as they want to seem.

PS my dealer charged me what their guy charges. $375. It is a thick coating, for sure.

Tell Benner you want to see the invoice for the install since it clearly is not a factory liner... after you see the invoice, then tell him you will split the difference with him because you would feel bad about getting something for nothing, but since it was his mistake he should eat 1/2 of it.

They gave you the vin for the ordered JT so take that info to JeepCares and see if they will help work it out.
This is bait and switch BS and doesn’t play well on the nightly news.

Is it possible that the bedliner was part of a package or a required option because of something els you ordered? just thinking out loud

OP said it was an aftermarket spray in for “dealer cost” of $600.

Mopar Factory is $495
Line-X in VA & MD runs $400-450 for the Gladiators.

Its just the BS that Koons does, they get you all excited and back you into a corner and then at the last minute they add things to the deal.
