Jeep® Gladiator Dark Sky Revealed With Imposing Looks, Impressive Value
  • Gladiator Dark Sky brings premium, aggressive appearance to industry’s only open-air pickup truck
  • Dark Sky expands lineup of special-edition Gladiators, creating more customer choice
May 21, 2025 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Jeep® Gladiator, the industry’s only open-air pickup truck, adds increased value bundled with signature Jeep capability with the new Dark Sky edition. As the Jeep brand – recognized as America's most patriotic brand for the 24th consecutive year – continues to deliver more customer choice, Gladiator Dark Sky is uniquely positioned within the nameplate lineup and within the segment.

Gladiator Dark Sky, based on the Sport S trim, bundles popular features into one package. These include:
  • A performance hood to evoke the Desert-rated Mojave styling
  • Body-color fender flares
  • Gloss black bumper inserts
  • Dark-colored badges and decals
For the first time, the Gladiator Dark Sky also provides customers with the ability to equip an optional body-color, hardtop roof for the Sport S trim.

The additional standard equipment comes bundled at an MSRP of $1,495, amplifying the value of Gladiator Dark Sky compared to adding the features separately. Additional standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Uconnect 5, Jeep’s suite of active safety equipment, including adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning, and a premium, wrapped steering wheel.

Customers may also option the comforts and adventure-focused features most important to them in their own Gladiator Dark Sky.
Gladiator Dark Sky boasts the capability to handle the daily grind around town and tasks off the beaten path. With Gladiator’s heavy-duty Dana 44 front and rear axles, with front axle disconnect, transmission and transfer case skid plates, plus 10 inches of standard ground clearance, the Dark Sky is as much at home on the trails as it is towing and hauling. Gladiator offers an unmatched, available 7,700 max tow rating in the segment and best-in-class 4x4 payload of 1,725 pounds.

Orders for the Gladiator Dark Sky are now open.

So, its an 80th anniversary with a Mojave hood? And the 80th anniversary was nothing more than a Overland/Sahara that was gray.

Just another way for Jeep to call it a “new” Gladiator. Nothing changed but the hood. Give me a break! Who’s running the show at Jeep because they need to hire some new talent. Someone with some drive and imagination. Oh and maybe listen to people that buy, drive and customize them everyday!

It’s matching someone’s taste. Even though the special editions aren’t much more than dressing, they fill a niche. It would be nice to have one of these in Rubicon or Mojave trim. But people already complain about those prices.

Dark badges, likely no "chromed" or "shiny" bits.
From the article -
Gloss black bumper inserts
Dark-colored badges and decals

I suppose it's like the "sport" versions of other vehicles, like my car - NO shiny bits. All trim is blacked out.

It also allows the body color roof and fender flares - one reason I've always skipped certain models. I want it all body color. Some just don't wear black well, IMO. Others will disagree, that's their personal preference, so be it. Some just don't look quite right to our family.

It allows people like me, my family/wife/son, to buy one at the sport level with body colored bits instead of black. Blacked out badges - that's a good thing, IMO.
Some other bits like the ACC and FCW - are those otherwise a thing at the sport level? This comes with those.

I agree that some body colors don’t go well with black roofs and or fenders.

Other than a bigger engine (which everyone wants and Jeep will never deliver), what else would you change on a Gladiator?

Lockers/gears are my vote but they're already available in other trim packages so would be nothing new.

Dana 60, maybe?

Yawn... Stellantis has the most capable pickup midsize truck on the entire market and at year 5 this is their bright idea to pick up their abysmal sales. If/when Gladiator production ends, it will go down as the biggest automotive fumble of any company in my opinion. Really is such a shame...
