Another point I would like to make is why the techs at the dealer have not talked to an engineer or advisor from jeep about these repeat problems? I work for Toyota and we have a tech line where if we have a persistent problem with a customer's car we can contact an engineer and get them involved.
Are you familiar with how the flat rate repair system works? The techs get a flat rate for a given repair. Whether they slap a new part on in 15 minutes or whether they actually trouble shoot and hang on the phone with Jeep for 45 minutes, they get paid the exact same amount of money.

The front knocking sound might be a bad front axle disconnect.
Good point. Maybe the Op in threatening lemon law action could make the point that replacing the entire front axle is cheaper for FCA than replacing the entire vehicle. ;-)

I had a problem with my front brake that turned out to be a loose caliper bolt. It was making a knocking sound till it finally fell out. The knocking comes from the entire caliper pivoting because the bolt is loose.

I strongly advise they check to make sure those bolts are tight. It happened to me a million miles from nowhere in the middle of the desert. Not a good situation.

The upshot to this is that it is a very easy fix. Just tighten the bolt to specs. You can see in this picture the gaping hole where the bolt should be. Also notice the gouge the mechanism put on the inside of the rim. Caused by the caliper swinging out and rubbing against it whenever the brakes were applied.

Yes I am aware of how flat rate works, I am a technician for Toyota and yes I have had to repair customer's cars under warranty with no pay for diag and it sucks. That is one of the major flaws with the industry is that manufactures want cars fixed right the first time but they screw Technicians on labor. That is why I tried to repair the truck myself after they replaced the rotors and I was still getting the noise. I even put my truck on a lift and tightened every ball joint and put new cotter pins in all the castle nuts and buffed the pads. Believe me I don't want to waste someone's time but we don't know why I am still getting this sound that sounds like pad walk and why my rear axle is still leaking.

I wish it was that simple, that was one of the first things I checked, thanks for your advice though.

Oh crap. That dealership must be a total 5h1t show. Usually once they find out you are a tech at another dealer, you get VIP treatment.

I have mentioned that I've worked as a tech and a service writer at every dealer we've used and it eliminates a lot of the crap. (Sir, your brake fluid is dirty - no joke I heard a service. writer tell someone who was in for a 15k service that to justify a customer-pay brake system flush for $300)

What are you getting for a loaner??

Sorry for your troubles. Sounds like a lemon. I’d invoke that lemon law if they are fixing your issues. It happens unfortunately. My 2021 Mojave has been flawless……..knock on wood. ;)

They are letting me drive a little Cherokee, the front wheel drive 4 cylinder one. Also I bought my gladiator from the jeep dealer owned by the same guy who owns my Toyota dealership which I have been working with for 9 years. We are an "auto mall"

Well I had a jl 2 door before this that didn't have any of these issues, I think the sold me a defective lemon which depresses me as hell, I have cancer and this truck was supposed to be our fun adventure vehicle so I could put stuff in the back and try to enjoy what life I have left but it has been just one depressing head ache.
Trade it off for the 4 Runner, move on, and enjoy life.
Sounds like you are having too much grief on this possible rare crap build. It happens, but why bother tolerating it?
Good luck.

Well I still haven't heard from them, still at the shop. At this point they need to get the axle fixed right and I will crawl under the truck and inspect everything after they are done. As far as the front end brake noise my guess is they won't do anything as it happens after it sits when it's cold and wet out so it may need new pads. It's just depressing that I work hard to pay for a truck I really want and I deal with all these other problems that this has to be all screwed up. I am going to call a representative from stellantis on Monday and tell them what's going on.

Maybe the vehicle was damaged in transit?

This happens more than you'd think.

Sounds like your problem may well be a dealer problem in the end. Had you gotten a problem truck but had a good shop, they'd have resolved it or tried harder.
The shop I use actually contacted the Jeep STAR team about the brake controller issue - but at that time they'd never heard of it so weren't of much help. But the fact that the shop even tried was impressive when I see so many shrug or throw their hands up..............

Well I hate to post this thread but my patience has run thin with my new Gladiator. I have a 2021 gladiator sport s automatic with the 3.6 for about 8 months with 3500 miles and have had numerous problems. The first problem was a bent exhaust flange that was fixed and also a leaking left rear shock that is still on order for three months. Now I have a repeat problem with the front brakes that I have taken to the dealer 4 times now where the front brakes will make this rhythmic knocking sound and nobody can figure out why. Also the tech a few visits ago seemed to think my rear diff was making noise which they replaced the rear axle but now the right rear axle seal is leaking gear oil all over the parking brake shoes. So now it is sitting at the dealer again for another repair attempt for the rear axle and front brake noise. I am seriously considering pushing a buy back as this truck may be a lost cause that will never be fixed. Has anyone else went through this process and what should I expect. I love jeeps but at this point I may want to go back to a wrangler or get a 4runner.
I don’t know for this is the case with your rig but all manufactures build a lemon once in a while. My father in law had an Audi A8 for three years that was never right and I made the mistake of buying it. After a year of it being in the shop every moth to the tune of $1,000-2,500 I traded it in on a 2011 Grand Cherokee. One of the best cars I have owned very few issues.

But I have owned other Audis that were great cars. If your JT is as bad as it sounds I would try to get them to buy it back as well. Mine makes me smile every time I get in it, 28,500 miles.
