Well I hate to post this thread but my patience has run thin with my new Gladiator. I have a 2021 gladiator sport s automatic with the 3.6 for about 8 months with 3500 miles and have had numerous problems. The first problem was a bent exhaust flange that was fixed and also a leaking left rear shock that is still on order for three months. Now I have a repeat problem with the front brakes that I have taken to the dealer 4 times now where the front brakes will make this rhythmic knocking sound and nobody can figure out why. Also the tech a few visits ago seemed to think my rear diff was making noise which they replaced the rear axle but now the right rear axle seal is leaking gear oil all over the parking brake shoes. So now it is sitting at the dealer again for another repair attempt for the rear axle and front brake noise. I am seriously considering pushing a buy back as this truck may be a lost cause that will never be fixed. Has anyone else went through this process and what should I expect. I love jeeps but at this point I may want to go back to a wrangler or get a 4runner.

It might make you feel better, but a Wrangler is nearly mechanically identical, and made in the same factory, so I doubt it's any better.

Well I had a jl 2 door before this that didn't have any of these issues, I think the sold me a defective lemon which depresses me as hell, I have cancer and this truck was supposed to be our fun adventure vehicle so I could put stuff in the back and try to enjoy what life I have left but it has been just one depressing head ache.

Ooof, sorry. Take it one day at a time and just go with your instincts. If you want that 4Runner, get it. Godspeed.

@JeepCares - for real - jump on this.

The problem is I want a jeep but this gladiator has not been very reliable, 4runners are reliable but also boring. I just want a properly functioning jeep that I paid a ton of my hard earned money for. In my opinion stellantis needs to own up to their mistake and make this right if the techs can't fix it.

Another point I would like to make is why the techs at the dealer have not talked to an engineer or advisor from jeep about these repeat problems? I work for Toyota and we have a tech line where if we have a persistent problem with a customer's car we can contact an engineer and get them involved.

Sometimes you get a bad one. Contact a Lemon Law Lawyer and see what your options are.
I have thought of that, I am trying to be patient and reasonable with them to give them fair chance but if it is not fixed after this visit then I am going to speak with their top manager and if I have to I will get lemon law involved.

The right rear axle seal is an assembly mishap. There is a thread on it. I'm waiting on the part now still able to drive the truck. For what it's worth, I had the same knocking and havnt been able to recreate it since they topped off the axle fluid. If you like the truck I'd see out the axle issue first.

I had a 2021 mojave that I ordered in January, took delivery in February put roughly 500 miles on it,
Had bad brakes,FAD and intermediate shift.
IT sat idle for 69 days waiting for parts, that was enough for me.
Had a conversation with the general manager of the dealership, started the buy back process, which jeep accepted.
Finally got my original Jt repaired in May so it was drivable.
Received my replacement Mojave in October.
Good on Jeep for standing up and replacing the gladiator.
But let me tell you,It was a long painful waiting experience.
With Parts and chip shortage it was a definite test of patience for the brand we love.

Sheesh I thought mine had been annoying. Odd about the brakes, my fathers 2020 Silverado also had sub par brakes that caused warping from the factory by 20k miles. You could get something to hold you over until they remodel the 4runner in a year or two? It will definitely be more reliable.

For real, @JeepCares I think that if there's anything you should jump on as a priority it's this one.

Your sig says Concord.

Is that Concord NH? If yes, go on the states website and look up lemon law requirements. You may have met them.

The other thing is to mention a lemon law buyback to the dealer. Often the mere mention that you are considering it, will get them scurrying to fix stuff.

The dealer I worked at we had a technician who was a freaking genius. Any car that was a potential lemon law candidate was given to him. He was given free rein. He would drive the car home at night to make sure the problems didn't come back. In short he was paid to repair things the way they shoud be repaired in the first place.

One other big factor for me would be what I had as a loaner car. If I had a nice loaner car then its a free car that I can put miles on. If I am on my own, I'd be pissed.

One other tactic to take is to confirm that you can get a loaner. Then drop the truck off with the list and say you don't want it back until everything is fixed. When pickup time comes, drive the truck before relinquishing the loaner. If something isn't right. Just leave with the loaner.
