I'm not small either but never rubbed that door strap, maybe I'm just lucky. Anyway if you are looking for more room it's possible with https://desertdoesit.com/products/seat-slammers-2018-2026-jeep-wrangler-jl-jlu-gladiator

Have to be willing to modify the driver seat but it's absolutely with it. At 6'5" I don't even have to slide the seat all the way back on the rail anymore. Seems like it couldn't make a huge difference but it does

The problem isn't the length of the seating area, it's the width. The JK was already too narrow. They made JL/JT even narrower for some reason. AND they moved the console upward toward the roof and put the t-case shifter in the worst possible position as somebody already mentioned. So your left leg rests against the door and your ankle gets rubbed raw by the harness strap, and your right leg gets bruised by the shifter. I suppose women, children, and chinese men wouldn't really have a lot of trouble. An American man definitely could use more space. I get that they're trying to stick to their military roots, but I think that ship has sailed and people are more interested in comfort. Ford is selling Broncos as fast as they can make them with excellent interior space and IFS. Clearly Jeep doesn't need a cramped cabin that's smaller than a compact sedan to sell vehicles.

Sounds like you need to trade your jeep in for a bronco. 😁 I'm 6'1, and have zero issues with the shifter or the door whip. I have noticed the last coule days that my left foot is usually back toward my seat bottom. I cant even maneuver my shin close enought to be bothered by the door side. As far as the tcase shifter I dont have an issue there either. The half doors have a different door panel as well, I would say slightly better than the full doors. I disagree on the JK being wider. Jumped in our 07 to see, The dash is actually closer to my knees, doors are very similar. That is also a manual like our JT

I took a pic of my door strap sitting with everything closed and I cannot figure out how it's even possible to run against it

TIL 6'5" 275# is tweenie sized or some shit lol. The pic was about the strap itself I can't even make my leg touch it if I tried. yours must stick out not up or something?

Anyway I looked just like that before the seat slammers. They are a world of difference for Voltron sized people. Just need the guts to cut

My knee went from resting in the dashboard/shifter to about here naturally

I took a Pic too...

Idk why it's difficult for folks to understand everyone isn't t them... You fit, great, some of us are adult sized though and don't.

My wife is 5'3" and wears a size 6 shoe. Her one complaint since 2018 (which I still get to hear repeatedly to this day) is that JL/JT are "too narrow" inside and "not comfortable".

I have a strong feeling Jeep may solve this with the next gen of these vehicles though...

So my legs get chewed up driving the Gladiator and our 4xe Wrangler. Most often they rub against the door connector cord cover. I know there's a video of twisting the door connector cord upside down to keep it from sticking out into the driver's well (which I haven't done), but has anyone else had this problem? What was your fix?

For reference, I'm a thick 6'1 with size 13 feet, so the foot well is relatively tight. I often adjust my driving position and legs, but after a while of driving, I may move back against the cord cover. The pic at right is not my Jeep, but is just a reference pic of the cord and cover.

Wear pants, or longer socks 😁.

In all seriousness though, I haven't had this problem. I'm 6'2", 220lbs. I hope you find something that works!

Compound fracture near your ankle so that you can force it over there.
