Mine did - I could see the dust on the wheel that had been the spare LOL - pretty obvious they rotated the spare in - plus those colored lines were still on parts of the tread.

Just really gets me - the differences in dealerships. Amazing.
I think your dealer is the anomaly, from personal experience and years reading Jeep forums the vast majority are the opposite of your local dealer.

Keep in mine please that forums are where people complain (normally, anyway) - so you will read about crappy dealers (sort of like all windows leak and all engines ping)

Personal experience - that's different.

Sometimes I wonder if some of it is regional.

Jeep dealers suck! Period.

After the dealer installed the Mopar lift on my Sahara, they handed me a quote to buy five 35-inch all-terrains.

When I got home, I tossed their quote in the trash and went to Discount Tire to get my tires.

My Jeep dealer‘s answer to everything is “No” or “We can’t do that,” and everyone looks in a pissy mood. So why would I buy my tires from them when Discount Tire offers me better prices, free rebalancing, free rotations and free repairs, at any of their stores, and they are always happy to see me...?

I've been spoiled working at a Kia dealership for years and I haven't touched tires bigger than 245/60/18 in years. I mounted and balanced my 35s and told myself never again... I'm too old for this shit :CWL:. I do know that our Chrysler shop would rotate any size tire to a point and would probably charge more if they get into the ridiculous size range.
Cool! What Kia dealership? I'm a Service Advisor in Tyler, TX.

Odd, my dealer beat the online and discount store prices.

I usually go to the local Chevy dealer for tires - they've always matched or beat ANY tire dealer - local or online and their service is excellent, taking great care with rare expensive classic car wheels. But this time I took the Chevy dealer quote and an online tire discounter quote to my Jeep dealer and they did some figuring and handed me a quote that matched the prices and beat the installed and balanced price - and put them all on my truck, including the new spare.

I went to their parts guy and told them I wanted a bug deflector and handed them prices I found on the web - they said they don't normally price match but looked over what I had and came within 5 bucks so that's where I bought since they at least tried and got so close.

Just amazing the differences in dealerships.

Even if my dealer offered to beat Discount Tire prices, which it didn’t, I’d still happily pay more to get less grief, better service, and access to a network of DT stores happy to fix, rebalance and rotate my tires wherever I might be.

The problem with Jeep dealers is that they start from the position that they are doing us a favor. Every time I go to Discount Tire, they greet me with a smile and before they hand me my keys back, they thank me for my business.

Sadly, that's a difference between dealers. That's how the local Chevy dealer and Dewey Dodge/Ram/Jeep as well - thank's for choosing us, etc. etc. I guess we're lucky to have two dealers not far away that are willing to do what it takes. Jeep shop in Ankeny bends over backwards to get 10s on reviews.
But - most likely I'd not BUY from this Jeep dealer because their sales people know less than most Gladiator owners here, and they practice the old 70s ways of "I have to go talk to my sales manager" then after 3 times like that the "sales manager" comes out acting like your long lost friend from high school or something.
I get your choosing to go to a place that appreciates your business and works hard to keep you satisfied and keep your business - "voting with your wallet". The store that treats you best gets your money. Why reward bad service?

I got a bad taste after having Big O tires put tires on my SX4.. The tires were not only worthless, but the employees were less than enthused to be there, acted like they had other things they'd rather be doing, and failed to find an out of round wheel (I complained to them multiple times of vibration and they said nothing was wrong). I finally diagnosed it myself and had another company verify and FIX the wheel.
There's now a Discount Tire almost next to Big O but after my experience with them, I was reluctant to deal with another discount place. Since my dealer did so well on these tires, it ended well in the end.
The Yelp reviews of the Altoona Discount Tire store are good (save for a couple who had bad experiences based apparently on one employee)
and - the fact you've had good luck with them - i may pay Discount Tires in Altoona, IA a visit for the new tires on my Eagle. One caveat - the wheels on that car are RARE and expensive. I'd be watching every single move they make with 'em LOL

Yeah for real. Picking up a 35" tire and wheel combo is hell on a guy's lower back whether he's healthy or not, especially if the Jeep is up on the rack. I do my own rotations, but I do them in the driveway where I can sit on my butt and use my legs and arms both to hoist the tire a few inches and mount it. Much easier on the body that way.
What about a girl's lower back?

WTF???? I simply DRIVE UP TO THE DOOR, they open it.

I took my JT in yesterday - was there at 7am, they got it right in. They sent me a video of the guy checking the brake pads, tire tread depth, looking for leaks, etc.

I took my wife's WK2 in today - was there at 7am, they got it right in - well, it was second in line - but they did wave rotation and oil change and even sent me a video of the guy checking things over.

No need to schedule for WAVE stuff. (of course unless you show up at 4pm and expect it right away)
But if you leave it with them first thing or take it in when they open, no problem.
I think I'm going to drive to Iowa for all maintenance :like:

Sad to say, but I won't be using the free 'services' at all - just don't have any confidence they won't screw something else up or not do anything at all.......

My dealer (Troiano CJDR- Colchester CT) has always rotated my 5th wheel (315/70R17) on my JKUR via Jeep Waves program, never a question. And any dealer with common sense doesn’t lift the Jeep more than enough to take pressure off the tires to remove them, two guys to lift the rotated spare into place. Another case of a shitty dealer that’s all…. If possible, people should really start buying jeeps from dealers who’s lots are filled with employee owned jeeps, to me that’s the biggest indicator of how well they’re going to treat you and your Jeep. Executive Jeep in North Haven CT, same thing, the service guys have lifted Wranglers, they wheel hard, never hesitate to give you whatever you need / best service possible.

OK. First off I ONLY wanted my oil changed and the lady is doing her thing and the guy beside her sees my truck butts in and goes full tilt "NOPE" and says we can't perform the Jeep Wave as you have oversized tires.........

I'm taken back and said I only want the oil changed, so then he changes his defensive stance and said well... OK.

I did later point out that I paid them to $125 to recalibrate the truck for 35's. Plus the Wrangler can now be had with 35's per Recon option.

I get it the tires weigh more but this seems to be at odds with their messaging.
Time for a new dealer. I have used two and neither has said anything about not doing 35s. Moreover I do a 5 tire rotation and they haven't charged me extra. All through Jeep Wave.

My Dealer puchased the wheels and Tires for me and mounted them before i even picked up. They will continue to do so. You live in A Big City???

Definitely the dealership. Just had mine done no issues with 35’s.
