Put JL Tazer on 23 Gladiator. Primarily bought to disable the autopark feature but found there were a few other things it does that are useful. Change tire size, turn on rear camera when blinkers. Other than those features I don’t use anything else

BUT the Tazer introduces a lot of electrical bugs. It causes my link between iPhone and radio to disconnect randomly. Bluetooth or wired. When I shut off truck the radio volume increases.if the radio was not on it will turn on if I shut truck off. Radio stays on for 10-15 seconds after I get out of truck. Sometimes radio will turn on randomly when I get in truck and have not yet started it.
there is about have dozen other little things I noticed too. I unmarried Tazer and kept it off for a few months and problems went away. Recently I installed it back on after making sure I updated firmware and my problems all came back. However, I have yet to experience iPhone disconnect but have really not driven it for longer trips where I used to have disconnect issues.

has anyone expierenced same or similar issues? Is there a better option to disable autopark, adjust tire size and more that doesn’t introduce new issues?

The Tazer is essentially a computer hacker that you install in your vehicle. It taps into the buss and fights with the computers for control over items. That is how it provides the 'live' features. The fighting will have some side effects. If you don't need the 'live' features, Jscan and AlfaOBD provide all the same programming functions for tire size and all the other settings.

Before you get rid of the Tazer make sure it is the culprit.

When the auxiliary battery on my 2018 JL started to go, over a couple weeks I got miscellaneous, disconcerting electronic gremlins.

This is a partial list of the symptoms I encountered:
  1. The backup camera would go black, only to start working again on its own
  2. The backup lines would disappear, only to reappear on their own
  3. The Selec-Trac slipped out of RWD into 4Hi. This happened twice, so I know I didn’t shift the transfer case in error
  4. Lost ALL audio —music, navigation guidance, etc. Everything returned the next day
  5. Speakers popped loudly upon startup
  6. CEL came on and went away on its own
  7. “ESS Unavailable” message popped up on my instrument panel
I thought my Jeep had lost its mind!

The batteries Jeep uses are known to be extremely cheap and to fail after only a few months of ownership.

Swapping out the two batteries solved all the problems.

Do yourself a favor and swap them with an aftermarket brand. It will save you many headaches.

Good luck.

We had radio problems after we installed our taser and everybody convinced me that we did not install it 100% correctly and they were 100% right. We reinstalled it with some help and it has performed perfectly.

I pulled out my tazer for a lot of the same problems you described (23 jt rubi). Once it was out all my issues went away. I updated the firm ware and it still did not resolve my issues.

Since I only needed it for the tire size ( regearing in another month) I opted to have the dealer change the setting and be done with it.

I installed Tazer on my 2023 rubicon a couple of weeks ago, to address primary change to tire size, but I have had no issues

Just installed right before Christmas, and not having any issues. Lots of useful features I use that no other company has.

‘22 Mojave, I’ve had the tazer on for about a year. No issues ever.

be sure to check the seating of the cables are fully inserted. It’s common to not clip in fully. Then make sure to follow all steps correctly, including the power cycles afterwards.

tazer support is great, if you feel you have a defective device. But those issues are not generated or expected by a tazer that is performing normally.

I can't say I've had any "issues" with my Tazer on my 2020 JTR.
From above:
1), 3) & 5) In 3 years I've never had this happen
2) This has been discussed in other threads that for some reason the radio volume on start up returns to 15 regardless of what level was set when the engine was turned off (other than if the radio was turned off before engine was shut down). This is an "annoyance" but, for me, not a deal breaker
4) My radio stays on for a brief period when I turn the vehicle off, but then shuts off once I open the door. I don't see this as an annoyance as sometimes I turn off the vehicle of and am sitting there gathering things together to get out. Kinda like the music to still be playing. Is that really "an issue"? On a side note, my 2016 JKUR with and aftermarket JVC head and no Tazer Mini does this same feature.

Features I do use:
a) Tire size change
b) Delete the seatbelt reminder chime
c) Use garage door after shutdown
d) Show cameras shortcut button
e) ESS disable
f) License plate blanking
g) Line lock (for doing digs on trail)
h) Turn assist

Now if my radio was just randomly connecting and disconnecting, that would be a deal breaker I suppose but I DO LOVE some of the Tazer's features. Maybe it's a problem with your Tazer. Do you know anyone that has a Tazer and you could try using theirs?

Another thing to consider is what @RK Racing & @shelfactor have mentioned...make sure you are following the install/marry procedure exactly including the power cycles, etc. I didn't do it properly one time and things did get a bit wonky.

Now back to your main question, @Mr. Bill already mention Jscan and AlfaOBD and I see lots of people on here talk about them; so these are probably good options. I'll throw another "dark horse" into the mix... the AEV ProCal SNAP
https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/procal-snap/

I have no personal experience with this product for the Gladiator but have one each for both of my JKUR's and those work pretty seamlessly and effortlessly. Maybe someone that reads this and has one will pipe in and offer their experience/opinion.

EDIT:
As @Bbannongmu posted after this post:
"Recommend reaching out to ZAuto- might have a bad one and/or a bent pin on Jeep or Tazer."
I've seen many folks on the forum report good customer interactions with the team at ZAuto. Definitely give them a call!!

Been running Tazer for 3 years to change tire size, gear ratio, enable forward camera, turn off ASS (auto start stop), traction control, and no issues. Recommend reaching out to ZAuto- might have a bad one and/or a bent pin on Jeep or Tazer. Good luck.

I bought the JScan app. As a multiple Jeep owner it cost $25 to purchase the app and I can use all the components in another vehicle. Does everything I need it to and doesn't try to overwrite code, or whatever Tazer does.

Interesting, I have had zero issues with my Tazer on my 2022 Rubicon. Really very happy with how it works and gives me access to some functions that the stock configuration does not allow. But hey if you are sure this is the issue take it out. I am sure you will find lots of buyers here on the old webs.

My Jeep dealership sells the AEV Procal Snap. They will sell it at the same cost you can buy it for online and you install yourself or they will install for an extra $100.

JScan is the way to go. More features than most of know how to use. I have found it very valuable just since Labor Day when my eco D went into limp mode and I was stranded in BF nowhere with an alleged plugged up DPF. Dealer said it can't be forced without them doing it... BS. J scan has the function and I forced a regen and all was well and not F'd AND needing a tow 150 miles away from any stealership... was worth every penny just for that.. Plus everything else it does. Just have to buy a bypass cable and a bluetooth OBD dongle. I leave mine plugged in all the time so I can check anything whenever. The plugs for the security bypass are a pain to get to so I leave it hooked up all the time.
