I wish this had another angle. It looks like the mirror would keep the door from opening all the way at this angle lolCaught this on Facebook today from AEV, first picture of the diesel snorkel???

That was my first thought too.I wish this had another angle. It looks like the mirror would keep the door from opening all the way at this angle lol
It's tight clearance. Take a look at the snorkel for the 3.6, it's just a mirror copy in terms of the exterior design, it appears. And presumably without a notch for the antenna.I wish this had another angle. It looks like the mirror would keep the door from opening all the way at this angle lol
Thanks! I hadn't even thought of that. It would make sense for it to be a mirror image on the exterior of the body of their 3.6 oneIt's tight clearance. For extra dough they have a Sy-Klone pre filter. I kind of like that.
If it really is a mirror of the current gasser one, you just need to sit in the passenger seat of the gasser to figure it out.Hard to tell without being in the driver's seat, but my initial thoughts are if it doesn't hind behind the pillar enough the blind spot it's going to create is going to be killer (literally for any pedestrians). Any little bit of sight it blocks out is only going to be magnified due to being closer to the driver vs the passenger side.
Maybe, someone with a RHD gasser with a snorkel could comment? Probably not very common given most outside the US are diesel.
Thought I’d drop some photos in here for the gasser one from various angles. It looks like it could add at least some to the blind spot for a driver.Hard to tell without being in the driver's seat, but my initial thoughts are if it doesn't hind behind the pillar enough the blind spot it's going to create is going to be killer (literally for any pedestrians). That is true, but you never really know until out in the real world. You could say the same about tinted windows until your start driving around in the dark. That said, I'm sure there are other cars that are far worse in general. I couldn't stand my wife's old civic couple because the A pillar was so slanted there was a huge blind on either side. There was a few times driving around where there would be people standing on the sidewalk to cross and I couldn't even see them sitting at a stop sign or light. If it really is a mirror of the current gasser one, you just need to sit in the passenger seat of the gasser to figure it out.
