Starting this up to track the build progress on my 2021 Sting-Grey Rubicon.

It's a fully loaded Rubi that isn't missing a single check box that I can see—only 13k KM on the odometer.

  • 3.0l EcoDiesel
  • Blind spot and park sense
  • Body colour top and finders
  • LED lighting
  • HD Tow package
  • Dual top group - the softop is still in the sealed box!
  • Steel bumpers (no winch)
  • Leather seats
Stage .5 (right off the lot)
  • 35" Baja Boss ATs (though I see the K03s are available now in a D rating. I might try them)
  • Mountain Off-road Dead pedal
  • Delrin Door bushings
  • Rugged Ridge Locking Hood latches
  • AFE Filter
  • Red Line Hood struts
  • Rubicon XL fender extensions
Stage 1 (over the next 6-8 months)
  • Maximus 3 winch plate and SLP hoop
  • 12K winch (still deciding on brand)
  • 3.5" lift (likely teraflex)
  • AEV Snorkel
  • lighting (ditch, driving, backup)
  • Graphics (Retro-scrambler in blues)
  • New Rims (Fifteen52)
  • On-board air with JEEP GLADIATOR BED SIDE ENCLOSURE - MEDIUM and ARB Twin)
Stage 2 (2-3 years)
  • 37" tires
  • Rear Winch mount
  • 4.10 regear
  • Upgraded radiator
  • overlanding rack
Pictures will come when I pick it up this week.

The first official modification/addition was installing the JC handles. They were packed in the rear under-seat storage, still wrapped in plastic. I also put the first decal on.

Today I installed Redline hood struts. An easy 15 minutes of work, although the bra lets get rather warm sitting in full sun.

LOL, I know exactly who this is by the license plate. I take it you traded in the JL?

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the build!

Yeah, Hulk played and lost the JL/JT paint lotto. It had been in the shop, having all the doors and hinges painted twice, and I'd been waiting since November to have Jeep warrantee the work a third time. Meanwhile, the window frame was bubbling, the window hinges were rusting badly, and the pinch welds were rusting.

Looks like you’ve got a great start and a great plan. You won’t need the regear. I’ve been running Baja Boss 37s for 75K from sand to rock crawling to endless highways. Never felt I needed more teeth. I did my first 50K on KO2s and love those, but nothing beats the Mickey Thompsons.

Curious how the scrambler decals will look on the grey. Keep those picks coming.

Don't blame you. Edge of my hood and hinges are starting to bubble now too.

Okay, no pictures, but the Tazer has been transferred over to Toothgnasher, and custom plates have been ordered. Last weekend I took it on its first trail run.

I certainly missed the lift and bigger tires that Hulk had, but the JT did pretty good, bone stock. I dragged the rear on a washed out culvert, but the steel bumper held up well. I’ve decided I’ll skip 35” tires and go right to 37s. Which means I have to save up for them in the lift to go on at the same time.

MOLLE mounts for the front of the bed came in. I'm going to mount my traction boards across the bed using those—pictures to come after I install them tonight.
