Just ordered this knock off steel bumper

Did you have to trim it to get the winch to fit?

I did when I was using their winch plate, but I used a bulldog winch plate when I moved it over to my 2022 from the 2020 and I would not have needed to trim with that plate.

I have a similar one as well, but I actually pulled the red tow hooks from the factory bumper and put them in the knock off. The one thing I didn't trust was those breaking if I needed them. Re-using the factory ones ensures that won't happen and the factory ones looked better. They fit perfectly and allow you to use the factory retaining nuts too.

What's different about the newer plate?

If you need more room for the winch you can space the bumper out. A member here sells them already cut out.

I also did that later.
But the other winch plate positioned the winch slightly differently.
I have the plates - two pairs, different thicknesses. I used them on my 2022 and it did give more space. (while making the hook bolt/studs barely long enough to go through everything including the winch plate mounting flange)

What's different about the newer plate?

I had no issues with my Amazon knock off bumper. I completely covered the whole bumper inside and out including the hardware with 3 coats of rustolem spray. I added the hoop and that required me to trim the engagement lever on the winch. So far so good.

Do you mean leveling kit? Yes I did a front 2 inch AEV suspension leveling kit.for stance and possible compensation for the bumper and winch.

Nope none except for the engagement lever due to the hoop install.

I bought one of these from an eBay seller. It’s been great. I, too, didn’t trust the tow hooks and swapped my originals in. I’ve had it 4 years and the paint is thinning just from sun and driving. I plan to coat it in bed liner this summer. The winch plate was fine for my Warn 8000 Lb. No flex when in use. All in all I think k it was a bargain.
