Ah yes, sudden panic. At least make me press and hold the panic button for a second before going off. Are all brands like this?--Too big
--Key often flips out accidentally in pocket
--Prone to sudden panic
The heat shrink will slide off. But I never use the key anyway. A friends Jeep had the glove box and center console ripped open. I don't mind if someone steals my mints. I would use a rubber band if I were to use the key. Then you can't use the key!
I like my '21 Gladiator keyfob better than the one for my '16 JK Rubicon Limited. The Key fob with the exposed button to flip the key out./open is a major pain in the pocket.. Are you frustrated with the design of this key fob?
What cover have you purchased to limit or prohibit the opening of the Key without your input? BTW, it was modified design (at least for the 2023) The 2021 was worse.
If you know anyone with a 3d printer ,there is a thin wall plastic clip on retainer that can be printed in about 15 minutes, the free downloadable file is on Thingverse under JEEP as are many other things like badges and stuffThe Key fob with the exposed button to flip the key out./open is a major pain in the pocket.. mine went through the washer .. was not as luckyThey don't float! Another good feature is that when it sank in the pond it was big enough to find with my eyes closed. They must be somewhat waterproof, that fob is still working.
Take the spring out. That's what I've done and no poke.--Too big

I guess if it works, it works but the aesthetics of that would bug the living crap out of me.If you know anyone with a 3d printer ,there is a thin wall plastic clip on retainer that can be printed in about 15 minutes, the free downloadable file is on Thingverse under JEEP as are many other things like badges and stuff

It isn't just your "SOS" key. It locks the console, glove box, and behind the seat storage we all have. It gets used! I lock things. For an SOS key to be that quickly accessible when it is never used, is beyond me. Damn thing opens in my dress pants all the time at work and has frayed a pair or two. Why?
