As we head into the Black Friday deals I'm looking to add a Kinetic Rope to my recovery kit. I have a mojave and just want something for the winter road trips into the Sierras. Basically I don't want to spend a ton of money so somewhere around $100 would be great.

Does anyone have tips on size, any Black Friday Deals or Amazon Finds?

I have this one that stays in the truck all the time.

FieryRed Kinetic Energy Recovery... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H86VD4X?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I like the 7/8” vs the 1”. I got a 1” Aldo and it doesn’t seem like it but they are substantially bigger and would not fit Uber the seat with the rest of my stuff.

1” are bigger and stronger but really how many times are you going to use it? I figure if I use it 5+ times then I’ll just replace it.

Thanks! Everything I read tells me 7/8 is big enough but people keep saying 1 in on the forums. For me it's a lot of real estate for one of those items I will probably never use. I have a diamondback so there's always a shovel under the top and rocks and logs are free ;-)

That is a really nice product although a little more than I want to spend. I'll keep my eye open for a Black Friday Sale.

I'm kind of gravitating toward the ARB snatch strap, it's got the best of both worlds. It's got some stretch but it's flat and compact.

1" is too big for a Jeep Gladiator. You won't get the stretch with that rating and the stretch is what makes the Kinetic Ropes do what they do. If you are overlanding and near the GVWR of your vehicle than 7/8" if you offroad like I do with 1 passenger and tools than probably 3/4". Too much capacity can be almost as bad as to little.

You base the size of rope on the vehicle DOING the pulling.

So, for the Gladiator 7/8" is the size to go with.

As for price, I wouldn't just base it on price, look for what has great reviews and that you see being used. Sometimes that will cost you more.

I was out and used a guy's Bubba Rope. My first time using kinetic and I could not believe how soft it was, we each got pulled and each time I thought "this isn't enough to get me/him out" They also have a ton of color options, check @Northridge4x4 if they have any sales

don't trust your recovery to some unknown, amazon off brand that might fail you when you need it.

I'd recommend to go with FIRST HAND experiences of someone actually using something not 'it's in my truck i've never used it' or 'a buddy used this one'. last thing you want is to be stuck and now with a broken recovery rope.
