I have a new 24 sport. I’m trying to see what the largest tire I can put in stock wheel without rubbing. I’ve looked but there are so many conflicting responses.

If no lift? I think 33-35's is the largest. Anything larger I believe you would need wheel spacers and trimming to inner fenders, fenders and maybe side step/rock sliders

Don’t forget about the wheel & tire WIDTH. There are limitations to the tire width when you match it with a wheel width. For example… you probably shouldn’t run a 12.5” tire on a 7.5” width wheel. The wider & taller the wheel, the more clearance / lift you’ll need.

I never read the entire thread but my local tire shops won't install 12.50's on 7.5" rims they claim 8.5min. 9.0 " preferred rim width creates the correct bead seal. If the bead is not flush on the inside even if it looks like it on the outside when wheeling and you deflate the tire could break bead. . Take what I say for what you will but just sayin.

Stock Sport gas; no Rubi, no Max Tow no Mojito, no Diesel.

Stock Sport.

With NO rubbing, a 33". MAYBE a 285/75R17, that's a 34" tire. Even then at MAX turn Max compression you might get some rubbing.

Now Add in a front spacer or a lift and that changes. Then you can go with a 35x11.5r17. You might get some rubbing with a 12.5" wide tire on a stock Sport w stock tires.

Sports have a lower fender than the Rubies, and don't have the wider axles.

35" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 255/85R17 pizza cutters fit nicely on stock rims. I am, however, running a 3.5" lift. Mine is a Sport S, no max tow, so regular width axles.

I'll be running some "Pizza Cutters" on stock rims, 275-70-18 in the winter.

Yeah… just like the internet says, you can’t run a 12.5” tire on a stock 7.5” wheel 🤦‍♂️

I my case it was my local shops that said they wouldn't accept the liability for doing that.

I don’t know anyone who would accept liability for anything done to my Jeeps. That’s why I do everything myself.

Same question but on 21 rubicon gladiator w/ max tow?

im trying to get 37’s on but I don’t have the extra cash for a lift kit currently. I’d rather buy the tires and put them on (I won’t be going off-road until a lift is installed, so I just need them to not rub under normal street conditions) now than buy 33s or 35’s knowing I’ll want 37’s eventually.

Typically most shops won't mount anything wider than an 11.00-11.50 wide tire . The factory rims limit width . Some guys on here are running 12.50's on stock rims

Largest tire in stock wheels? I'm gonna say a 14" or a 15" tire is all that will fit inside the wheel. But the brake rotor might get in the way.
