What’s work?
Hey guys.
I made the trade today and will be moving out soon.

A HUGE thank you to everyone here who has contributed and helped so much over the last 2-1/2 years or so!
Honestly, about the best and most resourceful forums I have been a part of, regardless of subject matter.
Great people doing great things!

I have a few things to tidy up before I go.

The most important one is the sticky on torque values and service manuals in the Maintenance section.
The resources are hosted on my Google Drive, and they need to be re-hosted somewhere similar by either another member or by forum ownership, @JAY.
I'll hang around for a bit until that's worked out.
Someone can either PM me new links, and I will edit the original post, or they can restart the whole thing with new links and let me know when it's done.
It's just too much information and work to abandon.

Other than that, I may have a couple of leftover accessories to sell off. I'm offering them to local friends first, just to save the headache of shipping and payments.

It's been an absolute pleasure!

Here's your obligatory hate picture for the new ride. 😂

We went on some cool day trips, but I'm thinking of something coast to coast now, and comfort and reliability
The vehicle gets me to the place I want to be, and most of them have roads that the Canyon can handle.
That's why we sold the wife's Civic for a Bronco Sport Badlands.

They are. We were looking at both of those. Everything below AT4 is cloth.
Those cooled perforated leather seats blowing sweet music up my butt crack on the ride home yesterday was glorious!
99 outside and we had to keep turning the AC up. It was cold in the truck at about 1/4 capacity.

That's not typical fodder for here.
They're two 4x4 pickups, but it will never be an apples to apples comparison like Canyon to Tacoma to Ranger to Frontier.
Gladiator stands alone in way too many unique ways.
I have my Duramax and the 2020 Gladiator. You are correct on the Gladiator stands out. GM has their problems too. I hope you don't find out any time soon. Good luck and come back.

No hate from me, I hope you love the new truck and congratulations!

By the way, the upper control arm torque values need to be double checked, because 37 ft/lb is way too light for that fastener.

Yeah it’s been disgustingly hot here, cooled seats would really help with duck butter in lower regions, the Willys isn’t up to that task. You nailed it on one of the reasons. I fear value tanking soon I got to do something. Me thinks ‘25 will be another fantastic giveaway of ‘24s so it will be stupid worse by then. Love the truck itself, I mean what other truck can pull doors and top, turn into a rolling gas can. Plus mine is the simple manual window and lock type hard to find that in anything these days, I love it! Being a Certified Jeep Geek it’s awesome to do truck things with a Jeep. It’s the endless engine drama though….11K and so much engine drama, scared to see what 50, 80, 150 looks like. It’s nail biting to go anywhere with it, I do and figure if it scatters it scatters and I am literally waiting for that to happen. I keep slinking by are local GM crack dealer and go full peeping Tom on the mid sizes. Well hell enjoy that thing, that’s nice and looks clean, not busy.

Ah man, first @Jeeperjamie, now you too

We’ll miss your comedic input lol. Thanks for the torque values and death wobble tips too. Good luck with that Canyon, it looks very nice. If I ever switch, it’ll have to be a full size but I do like those Canyons.

It was several things.

I had already been considering it, but two recent factors weighed heavily.
One was that Jeep continues to throw deep discounts on new vehicles trying to move inventory, which in turn drives used values farther down.
The other was that my most recent oil analysis showed very early signs of possible trouble. Even though I had a 7/100 CPO warranty, I just didn't want to deal with the headaches that might be on the horizon from that.

Another was simply comfort and drivability. While the Jeep couldn't be matched off-road, the hardware that makes that happen takes away from the on road experience. I had the Mojave as dialed in as probably SAV Jeep could be, but it's still an attention-demanding drive.
On the way home yesterday, I drove for miles on a smooth flat stretch of Interstate and almost forgot there was a steering wheel.

At the end of the day, the Jeep was a fun fling. We enjoyed immensely. We never off-roaded hard core, and sadly, I never got to even drive in the snow. We went on some cool day trips, but I'm thinking of something coast to coast now, and comfort and reliability are moving to the front burner. I got out of the business of taking vehicles to their limits and beyond years ago. It's an expensive endeavor, and not very practical.
The vehicle gets me to the place I want to be, and most of them have roads that the Canyon can handle.
This sounds like my exact reasons for making the switch as well. Different time in my life now and all the reasons above were important to me as well.

@JAY has rehosted the torque files on the forums and he edited the link in my original post.
It's a zip file, so it will always be there for members, independent of my own resources.
He deserves a THANKS for taking care of that for the membership here!
