Not to be a spoilsport but putting LED bulbs in a reflector designed for halogens seems like a terrible idea
Why??

Yep. They're a little pricey but well worth the money.
I thought I heard putting led or hid into a halogen housing was bad unless it's a projector housing. Is the non-led JT low beam housing a reflector or projector?

Because the headlight assembly is designed for omnidirectional halogen bulbs. Putting LED bulbs in will get you more glare (for oncoming drivers), a more scattered pattern and less distance projection. The beams just simply won't be as controlled because they won't be properly focused into a hot spot. If people want brighter headlights, I'd suggest a higher-powered halogen upgrade or replacing the entire assembly.

Here’s a pic from just now inside a parking garage. Pretty good cut off, not thinking there will be any blinding of oncoming traffic.

Edit: that is roughly 18-20 feet away from the front of the glad to the wall. I think pretty impressive.

Generally, I would completely agree, it really comes down to how the headlight display is configured (not the LED itself). Many, if not most, headlight assemblies can not make the swap. That said, with dumb luck, Jeep seems to be ok with side-mounted LED's. The dispersion levels appear to be the same from the front view. They hold a solid line, not blinding oncoming drivers.

It's amazing that in this thread we have showed both photos and videos proving that high quality LED bulbs will out perform halogen bulbs in terms of brightness AND beam pattern in the Jeep reflector housings, and yet there are still people denying that it works.

Yours admittedly look pretty good. Some of the others, not so much. But everything is going to beat the stock halogens for brightness. Those things suck haha.

I remember when halogens were a new thing, brighter than standard lights of the time. But these LEDs are impressive.

I got stopped for driving my wife's new car with no headlights on--DRLs were so bright i thought headlights were on. So i'll just swap headlamps only.

That happens to people all the time. The LEDs are getting pretty damn good.

I know! The only reason I started this thread was to share my experience with the LED’s I got and to help people that may want to replace their halogens. People are funny! :CWL:

I've just read like 30 times you're not supposed to do what you're doing (LED bulbs in halogen projector housings) due to blinding oncoming traffic. The beam patterns look pretty good, but I don't know how well the cutoff actually cuts off the beam for oncoming traffic.

I appreciate you sharing, please don't get me wrong.

It is a totally fair comment...and been a big issue in the past. I tried to go out and film the oncoming view but frankly, it didn't work.

We have very dim street lights and the camera lens lit those up 10x as well...so didn't really give a good reference.

When I looked at the phone, they looked very bright...when I looked straight at them, not near as much (and totally acceptable).

I will see if I can find a better way to film...or...just go with old 'see if anyone flashes their lights at me' test :) - hasn't happened yet...but we will see after a few more nights of running around.
