Ok, I'm a big guy- 6'5" and 280 but I think this is a bit ridiculous. I have stock leather interior (with heaters) and I have been noticing that the bolster on the door side is pretty much squished flat- so that the leather is creasing and the foam is not supporting the booster at all. I had a JKU for 7 years before I got my Gladiator and never had any issue- different shaped seat, less support.

In 19 months I have ridden on the passenger side seat maybe twice. Its usually my wife (5'8" 125) and that seat is having the same issue (albeit not as bad)- I'm asking if anyone else has experienced this issue and what remedies there are out there. (I'll post some pictures in a bit for illustration).

I am having the exact same issue with the door side bolster on the driver side. I have a warranty claim with the dealer and they have ordered a new seat bottom. I noticed it as early as around 6 or 7k miles. I have the cloths seats and just like your leather seats, the cloth is sunk and creasing where the bolster has disintegrated.

Interesting- I may open a claim myself- I'm glad i'm not the only one with this issue. i think the only difference between cloth and leather is the cover. Do you also have the seat heaters? I have 14k miles.

Interesting thoughts to try the warranty route on that.
Could ya snap a pic of your so we can compare?
Ive had the same think but I assumed it was because of either how i sit, or how i dismount.

Not sure if it would help this specific issue but since youre a taller guy it may. Give the desert does it seat jackers a loom. They were an easy install and make a surprising difference in seating position and comfort.

im 6ft even and 240, so not quite the same as you. But being 6’5” im sure youd like em.

I have the High Altitude seats. The Nappa leather is a big quality difference and perhaps the best part of the HA package. But my driver's seat is much more worn than the passenger seat after 10k miles. It doesn't look bad and it performs just fine, but it's got a broken in look quite different from the less used seat and starting to get a little loose.

I do not have the seat heaters. Right now I'm at 18k miles but discovered the issue around 10k miles ago but just now getting around to getting a claim going.

I have the stock cloth seats. 200lbs, 6'. I absolutely love them. I saw the complaints about leather before I ordered, and trusted them, Plus, I didn't want a Ragtop with black leather. Seemed like an atrocious idea, so I got the cloth and couldn't be happier. I'll get seat covers one day, but for now, I love how comfy & durable the cloth has been.

I have factory leather and and am also not a small guy (6’1”, 220) and find the seat bases to be exceptionally hard and uncomfortable. I’m currently in search of a good upholstery shop to replace the lower foam and put Katzkin leather on. Otherwise, I might have to sell the truck As it’s destroying my back

sorry for the delay- i tried to get photos that show the issue clearly- the bolster is completely flat inside, which you can see in the photos. its squished completely out to the side and will not resume it's shape.

Your problem is that your other car is a Volvo. The best seats in the business. IMHO. Its not fair to compare. Ha.

Mine looks just like this too. I assumed it's because I slide out since the truck is so tall.

I "hop in" the seat and don't slide off the bolster to avoid this. Seems to happen on many cars, heavyset or not.
I came here to post this.

OP are you sliding, or sitting on the bolster first?

Think about pressure per square inch. If you "slam" your whole body weight down on the bolster jumping in, that could be say 600 pounds of pressure on just the bolster.

I was doing this and installed steps on my rock sliders to save my bolsters.

*Not mathematically accurate.

I do have side steps, not as much sliding. I am tall enough that I could enter and exit the vehicle without using the steps or sliding in and out. My main critique is more about the fact this is happening with low miles- I would expect this over 60-75k miles, but not at sub 15k. I've been bigger weight wise than I am now, always had lifted trucks and Jeeps, never had this issue.
