Well I've finally started to build my gladiator for off road I need some advice on wheels. No not about backspace or offset I'm looking for non beadlock wheels with functional and removable rock rash rings. I'm not sure qhat they're called but that's the function so that's what I call them. Also something with the valve stem at least fairly protected. Went and broke a valvestem last weekend offroad on a rock. That sucked. Yes i had a spare but changing it on the trail was not fun with the spare under the bed it gets pretty tight. Any advice appreciated. THANKS

TeraFlex wheels have valve stem protection, modular rash rings so you only have to replace the section you thrash, and built in deflators. Downside: not cheap but I love mine and easy to clean clean.

I'm liking those Teraflex wheels a lot but yeah pricey. I like that they're easy to clean to. I can see some of the fancy rims just being packed with mud and dirt would be a pain to take care of.
Thanks

This. They’re fantastic. I thought your post was mine. I wanted exactly the same thing for the same reasons. I couldn’t be happier with mine.

Another happy customer. Not a single complaint about them. I am however still trying to decide on which color rings to go with.....

Had them on my grey Jeep and now I have it on my yellow one. The only issue I had was on the second set I got I had one bolt that wouldn’t come out when installing the rash rings. Had to drill tap and install a helicoil.

Yeah I'm running the teraflex split six wheels this season. With the rings installed they create a bit of a pocket between the wheel and the ring where I get clay/mud collecting. Not usually a huge deal, but throws off the balance if you have to drive back home on the highway after a fun day of mudding :)

I've also bashed up the rings on rocks, just like beadlocks you're going to get marks on them. After my last trip out I bought a set of replacements (set of 6 was 47 bucks shipped from extremeterrain). Because they are plastic you can clean them up a bit, but I have also bent one out and got some stuff wedged between the ring and the wheel rim.

You're gonna have to try really hard to break a valve stem with these wheels as they are pretty protected and have aluminum caps covering. Caps and rings are replaceable. Overall I'm happy with them and plan on keeping for a long time!

They look amazing on yours. I actually just removed my rash rings for the winter. I figured there was no reason to collect snow and grit in there if I’m not wheeling until spring. The snow is here. Stupid winter. :) here’s a picture of dirty winter mode, before it was washed.

I like the black as they blend with the tire and create the illusion of running 37x15’s. :)

AEV Borah wheels can be run with a rash ring or a beadlock ring if you change your mind down the line. In my biased opinion the best offset/backspace as well.

Rash ring on the left, bealock right

Keep a set of Colby valve stems in the glove box. They can be replaced from the outside of the wheel.

Wouldn't hurt to get some glue tread patches either.

Actually the way the stem broke we couldnt do a trail replacement the stem was broken in half but we couldn't get it out to put a different stem in. Probably a onece in a lifetime fluke but since I'm putting bigger tires and wheels anyway I might as well get the extra protection. I really like the looks of those Teraflex wheels with the deflators built in. Super fancy. Now black Fridays coming so I know what's coming in December.
