Steering gear and steering sector are used interchangeably.
Repair manuals dating back decades may use either.
If they are referring to the gears inside, they'll specify which.
The term is also singular.
So that reinforces my point. They are talking about opening up the steering box and replacing the gear inside then.

there coyness a million posts On here sinc then, I haven’t logged on in like a week...

No. They replace the entire box with a brand new one.

I'm third on a list at my dealer, they are doing 1 per week so they can allocate parts to all the dealerships (supply chain) since there are so many complaints.

Only you are confused, trust me, the shop won't be.
That thing YOU call a steering box IS the steering gear.

Those factory trained or those who have worked in the parts department (which I have done) will say steering gear or steering sector when referring to that thing the pitman arm is on.
The terms are used interchangeably - meaning you can say steering gear - and it MEANS steering sector.
In short: Steering GEAR = steering sector
No manual, no parts listing I have ever seen will have "steering box" -that's shade-tree, or slang, used on the internet when people don't know what it really is called.

If anyone wants, I'll go pull out my big fat thick parts books.
Below are pics from one of my TSMs. They clearly show the steering gear as being what some on the web call the steering box.

If a mechanic says steering gear, they are referring to what YOU say is the steering "box".
Box is slang. Box is easier to say and covers a ton of possible configurations - power, non-power, and more. The correct technical term is "steering gear".

There won't be any confusion in the shop.
To ease your concern, please see below - I can also post entries from parts books showing that the whole shootin' match is the steering gear.

Here's the steering gear in a picture - note, the FACTORY calls this thing YOU call a box, the "steering gear" ->

Again, called "steering gear" - also note they talk of "steering gear repair" on the right - you don't repair actual gears, so they are referring to what novices call the "box"
this is how to take it apart, service and repair it ->

I also have entries from parts listings if needed.........

I can confirm after just returning from the dealership and having the work done as specified in the TSB, they do replace the entire steering gear (what you see in the image, figure 37). Steering is more responsive and there is no longer a huge dead spot. I have not had the vehicle up to highway speeds where I was having the most issues. Will report back when I do. I look forward to no more white-knuckle Mr. Toad wild rides on the highway.

Jeez dude. Thank you for the detailed explanation, but even your previous description sounded like the internal gear itself.

For the record, I’ve worked in the auto industry for years and I’m very familiar with dealership service departments, technicians, TSBs, etc. I never stated thought, or even implied, that the Dealership's technicians would not know what to do. I was just looking for clarification on what the replacement part/procedure is. I didn’t really actually think it was the gear itself as manufacturers would typically save money in the long run by having them replace the entire steering box assembly than pay the labor for replacing the internal steering gear.

Sorry but even looking back it looked like you were asking, even implying, that they'd only replace the inside gears. It looked like an actual assumption that they may only replace gears and not the whole gear.
It just reads that way.

Here is your quote and even another member countered with no, they replace the whole thing, so even to them it looked like you were asking and thought that I had implied "gears" and not steering gear.

So how many others here are having their loose steering in their JT looked at since the TSB was released? I took mine in and they informed me that it was within the TSB affected range (they had to look at the number on the steering gear I believe) and now have ordered a replacement for mine! (I had taken it in 3 times previously to document that it seemed to be an issue for mine but was told within specs each time) It replacement steering box should be in within a week and i will take it in and let you know how it performs after it has been replaced.

My dealer is working on getting the part and once he has an ETA I'll be making an appointment.

Had mine repaired under warranty through the TSB today. Only 10 miles to get home but, I could noticeably feel the better handling in turns and the wandering was significantly reduced on the highway. Yeah!

I just got a 2021 Mojave and believe I have loose steering. I seem be all over the place at times. I can barely move the wheel and it’s like I make a big move.

Because of the TSB I was able to get my steering box updated. I can say with 100% confidence that solved my issue.

Ive had my TSb done for a while now and I am still pleased with the improvement. I havnt felt the need to re install the synergy sector shaft brace one bit since the fix.

I %100 suggest that even if you dont have the concern yet and have the old box...just say the magic words and get it replaced. its well worth it.
