Max fuel capacity

No it is a 22 gallon tank. I’ve ran it down to single digits on the DTE and the most I’ve ever put it was 19.5 gallons.

The spillage OP mentions might be the burble issue some of us have had happen occasionally, where the fuel hose clicks off, but some fuel will splash back out as though you overfilled it.

That can’t be good on the fuel pump… lol

My bad, I haven’t done it by calculating myself, just what the computer is telling me

No problem. I could always count on about 400 actual miles per tank. The range would report anywhere from 375 to 425. Now that I'm doing more short range driving, with the cap and extra weight, it doesn't ever show more than 380. I've stopped watching MPG and just keep the tank filled.

I’m hoping when I fill up it still keeps showing that 500 mi range, it’s nice

My truck is diesel, fuel tank capacity is 18.3 gallons to give some room for the DEF, It shouldn’t be able to get an additional gallon in there, especially since I probably had a gallon in there still

Good point - but then, a person could ask how accurate is that when you find this out there on the web, implying the 3.6's fuel tank is not the 22 they say it is - this is a quote from a magazine, supposedly they got the specs from Edmunds??
So, do I have a 22 or a 21.5 gallon tank?

It gives an adrenaline rush, sure, but I wouldn't bank on that number being accurate. After years of having mine, it always over-estimates my range right after a fill-up. Plan on getting less than it tells you.

41 fills over 18,000 miles i've never put in more than 19.6 gallons. I'm not brave enough to run it further. My light turns on when 17 gallons are gone and i've driven past 0 miles to empty just recently. The computer also over estimates mileage by 1.0-1.5 mpg. So if you are seeing 22 it's probably closer to 20.8-21 mpg.

The computer says "low" for range left after 9 miles but i just watched my trip odo. I usually look at the computer estimated mileage and subtract 1mpg and multiply by 20 to figure out how many miles I can drive, i reset the trip odo every fill.

It's definitely possible to add more than 22 gallons. I've logged every fill-up since new.

Scaredy-cats!!! I watch the red line. When the arrow hits it, I fill up. Been several times that the arrow was way below E and I’ve fit well over 20 gallons. I have hit 21 gallons one time.

Mine has been to low on the DTE more than once. The absolute maximum gas I put in was 20.25 gallons. Checking verifiable miles per gallon using maps, there was likely less than two gallons in the tank upon fill.
