Jeep Gladiator Max Tow Maxed Out? A6272AB2-A6AF-4050-8A1B-094EA4F81E81

Hey guys, I thought you might like to see what a Max Tow is capable of towing. I Tow with my 21 Max Tow Sport multiple times a week.
The power comes from the stock 3.6 Gas motor backed by the 8 Speed Auto, with 4.10 rear axle and 35” AT’S on 20x10 Moto Metal Wheels. I upgraded to take off Rubicon Diesel front Springs and Shocks all around, but kept the Stock Max Tow Rear Springs. This Particular tow was the heaviest ever, Maxing out around 7,100 LBS. I live in the Phoenix Metro Area and this was towed about 60 miles round trip. I have towed Appx. 5500 LBS up to the White Mountain Area in Eastern Arizona, Flagstaff in Northern Arizona and other mountain areas with many 6% + grades, with no issues. When I tow I always use the Manual Mode(Automatic Mode Sucks) and use some common sense on RPM and Braking distance. I came from a Ram 2500 with a Cummins, this is no way near that truck, but it can haul a fairly heavy load. My biggest complaint, is what I consider to be poor Gas mileage Towing or not.

I would guess your 7100 estimate to be close, only because I see you using a lightweight aluminum car hauler. I think many people would put that on a steel trailer and be over 8K.

Is that an aluma tilt bed? The 18 is 1500 pounds without the accessories, and the tool box and their shield wouldn't be too heavy, I'd imagine. I think the next one up - the 20 is only 100 pounds heavier without accessories.

I'd love to know the tongue weight and so on as I had max tow springs under my Overland and 525 pounds tongue weight and my trailer with car loaded was roughly 4900 pounds and it did settle the rear quite a bit - took out the rake and made it level, perhaps a TAD lower in the rear - causing mega-trouble with the headlights.

I don't know how much rake you started with, or your tongue weight and so on, but it looks pretty good for that much weight - likely 200 pounds more tongue weight than i had but still not saggy-butted.

VERY interested in more details as I'm debating on whether or not to put the max tow springs back under my new Overland when it arrives - would it be worth it to prevent the sag.......

Your truck was made for towing and payload - not mpg. You can't expect those heavy tires and that ratio to give great mpg

Towing roughly 4900-5000 pounds I got 13.9 mpg but then it's 3.73 ratio and the tires are wider, but still stock diameter on it. And I stuck to the towing speed limits which is usually 65 here and in many other states.

I’m not sure what the tongue weight was on that Tow. I know the Suburban is fairly heavy in the rear compared to most vehicles. When I load, I try to Pay attention to the distance I have from the bump stops to Axle.
