Just wondering what owners are seeing for real world MPG with nothing in tow? I see posts from Glad owners with standard 3.73 gearing getting lower 20's in all around driving and I'm just curious of what kind of MPG to expect with 4.10 rears and slightly higher unsprung weight (Sport std. wheels/ tires) with the max. tow pkg. since 98% of my driving will be without a trailer.

18.5-19 MPGs on 35's 70% city driving and 30% interstate driving. Never saw less than 18 other than when I towed 5,000lbs of rock 40 miles, was around 17 on that trip. Here's how mine sits

As long as the expectation is a "range" and there is no expectation to necessarily match the highest part of that range that's found in various replies, all is good.

A given person could, for example, get 21 mpg on a regular basis, mixed driving, while another can't get better than 20 and yet a third gets 22-23.

I would expect the range of responses over-all to be 18-21 with mixed driving in a non-mountain area.

These also seem to do better by 2 or so after they hit 7,000 miles or more. That's been the trend I' have observed over the months, and my own experience with various Jeep and other vehicles.

If most responses are 18 or better don't be real disappointed if you hit only 17-18, but if you hit several MPG less - look for answers.

My expectation is high teens around town and maybe low 20's on longer, relatively flat highway trips. I drive more conservatively (read, slower!) now as I creep up on retirement and one benefit is that it really helps with MPG! I figured the higher gearing would probably drop the MPG's by about 5-10% and that's still seems about right.

I’m around 21 mpg. Mostly highway driving. The lowest I’ve seen it get was 17 mpg from mostly city.

I have 1700 miles now on our still stock JT Max Tow and seeing an average of 18mpg. Very mixed daily driving. Cruising flat at 60 it’s 23-25 . In town bout 16. We just made a 350 mile round trip to Ole Miss to visit my son and on the Interstate pushing 80mph most the way on flat and not so flat roads and we were hanging around 17.
That’s with 4 people totaling 700lbs.
My TJR averages 13 on 32s” so I’m happy with it and believe it will improve.

What’s everyone’s mileage? I’m at 500 miles on the odometer. Did you all see a change in mpg after the JT was broken in?

Well, I made it from Meridian Idaho to Spanish Fork Utah (400 miles) on 20 gallons of gas. 70-75 mph, on my way to the trails Ouray Co.. I'm running a 2.5" lift, and 34" tires on stock Sport S alloy wheels, so 20 mpg on the highway all day long.
If I want gas mileage, I drive my Hyundai Veloster Turbo. I don't use my truck in town, I feel it would be an insult to it. When I drag my 4k lbs off road 18' trailer, I get about 11 mpg's Not ideal, but it works, and I can avoid "public" campgrounds to get to the boondocking locations I prefer.

Jeep truck for Jeep or Truck stuff, car for car stuff like running around town, or heaven forbid, the mall. The gas savings and wear and tear savings on the Gladiator, have more than paid for the economy car.
