Jeep Gladiator Mojave from F150? tempImage315BY0

When your "friends" are paying for it they can have an opinion. Otherwise? STFU.

Sold my 2014 GMC 2500HD Denali 4x4 in pristine condition because I got every dollar I paid for it in 2016 used. Also sold my 2017 2 door JK Wrangler (a REAL Jeep - sheesh who makes up these "rules"?) too.

Bought a 2020 Rubicon in July last year with 15,000 miles and have not had a single problem with it. Works just fine for my intended use. Pulled this loaded 16ft enclosed trailer weighing 6500 lbs from Seattle down to Central Valley California about 2 months ago and not a single issue.

I'll use it to tow my 22 ft wakeboard boat a few times a year. Otherwise? Daily driver.

Sold my GMC Sierra crew cab fully loaded 3 years ago, don't miss it.
I can haul anything in my jeep i did in gmc, get same in some cases better gas mileage with my jeep then did in GMC. I have 4.5 lift w/37's just got back from Colorado and got 18.8 average from texas with 4 people in and bed fully loaded. I've put 53K miles on jeep so far and still love it - haven't missed the gmc at all. Jeeps aren't for everyone, you love it or hate it.

Straight from a 2019 F150 sport package XLT crew cab to my current Mojave. I’m a long time Jeep owner and only got into the F150 to wait for the Gladiator to finally hit the streets. But waited the lease out and just got my 2022 Mojave this past February after a long build wait time. I am so much happier being back in the comfort of my Jeeps. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nothing like that comfy F150 on a long trip but it will run circles around it during the winter which is when I missed owning a Jeep the most (just love me a good snow storm cruise about).

:like: fun thread! I too left full size pickups behind when the JT became a reality. Taco’s were too small but did have a good size bed. But, I live in a temperate 4 season climate with real winter and summer. I haul two snow bikes in the winter and two dirt bikes, adventure bikes, construction material, yard waste, alpine ski gear, mtn bikes, cargo trailer, utility trailer, race car trailer, just about everything in the bed and towing and the with the 1650 payload it is actually more than my old RAM 1500 EcoD. I wanted a manual with a soft top (no other truck can be spec’d like the JT). I added the supercharger for get up and go and Centerforce clutch for reliability and efficiency. Heated seats, block heater, and heated steering wheel with insulated clip in headliner and winter is no problem. I drive the vehicle pretty aggressively on asphalt and logging roads in winter and summer and it’s doing fine. It is a fun vehicle and very capable. Full size are a thing of the past.

What MPG are you getting with the F150?

I’m getting 19.8 overall. It’s a 10 speed, 4x4, crew cab.
I am probably closer to 18 combined on f150 since i got a heavy foot.

Diesel gladiator always 23mpg combined and again heavy foot.

I have a heavy foot too. Mine spends most it's time in sport mode.

Interesting the V8 gets a little better mpg than the turbo 6.

Between my 5.0 and Ecoboost F150s that were identical Supercrew 4x4 models, I got about the same MPG. But to be fair the Ecoboost was their max tow package with 4.10 (I think) gearing, full engine and exhaust bolt ons, and a tune. That truck hauled ass.

I made the switch from 1500 Ram Rebel for that exact reason. I have never been happier, i still have truck capabilities and I have it in a Jeep package. I love my Gladiator. Wife wasn't a fan at first either but, once the lift and tries were installed she came around...

I went from a Ram 2500 to a Mojave. I love wranglers, I love trucks, it’s been the perfect vehicle. I did tow with the Ram but don’t have the trailer anymore so no need for the big truck. I liked my truck, I love my Jeep.
I also went from a Ram 2500 Diesel as I no longer had a big trailer to tow . I also use my gladiator for 2 larger fat tire e bikes and truck stuff . I just moved my kid to a new apartment with it is definitely a truck with a smaller bed . I plan on some bigger tires and mild off roading . It definitely checks a lot of the boxes in my lifestyle . While it will never be a 2 door wrangler or 2500 truck it does do the in between well enough . If you need a heavy tower this is not it .

Do what makes you happy! Don’t worry about what others think.

Hello! I have a 2021 F150 and I am very very tired of driving a full size pickup every day. I love the Gladiator but my jeep friends and my wife all hate it. I dont get the hate. I want a mojave / rubicon and there are few locally.

Question - anyone come over from full size? I don't tow. I just use the bed for mountain bikes and household stuff. Also, why the hate!??
If they're not paying for it then the hell with their opinion. Do what makes you happy or live to regret it.

ha! my best friend has a JK Rubicon and he just keeps saying "its not a truck. its not a jeep. its...not really anything"
I don't get where people say that it's not a jeep, or a truck. Jeep has made lots of trucks over the years. They stopped for a while, but historically, jeep has a long history of making trucks. All of them a little quirky, but all fully jeep and fully truck. In MANY ways, the gladiator is more like an old school truck than anything else currently produced.

Came from a 2013 Chevy Avalanche Black Diamond, I bought new.. I was very happy with the old truck it just reached end of life for me. The Gladiator was kinda of an impulse buy but glad I did. It feels so quick and nimble compared to the full size yet can still do truck stuff. I don’t regret it.
