My 22 Mojave on 35's gave me 13.75 L/100km or 17mpg on a short trip yesterday, keeping speed at the speed limit which was no more thanks 65mph. Soon as I was off pavement taking it easy with a lot of variable speeds etc it went down to closer to 15mpg. Odometer is not corrected, I did the conversion based on a 5% tire size increase. The truck has a bout 800 miles on it now. Hoping it gets a little better with break in also. Coming from a Diesel ZR2 that is some really bad gas mileage lol. But on par with my previous Jeeps, Tacoma's, and F150 all running at least 33's or bigger.

I have a 2022 Rubicon with the gas engine. Going into the weekend, I had 550 miles on the odometer, and 11.6 mpg for the lifetime of the vehicle. Almost all my travel is classic city driving, lots of short trips with plenty of starts and stops in traffic. On Sunday I put about 250 mostly highway miles on the truck, and it brought the lifetime mileage up to about 16 mpg. Hopefully as we get into spring and I get out to go camping and take some road trips, that average will keep climbing.

Traded a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 Hemi on my new 2022 Mojave 3.6 Pentastar.

Overall happy with the mpg. The Ram never got over 14mpg and many times dipped into the 12mpg range. At least I am getting 17mpg with the Mojave and it has just under 500 miles on it. Maybe it will improve a little with more miles.

Knew this going in.

I got my 2021 stock Mojave back in September. Iā€™ve got 6k miles on it now. I didnā€™t get but 14mpg for the first 5k miles no matter how I drove it. At 5k miles itā€™s like a switch was flipped. Now I get 17mpg. Thatā€™s with the factory mud tires.

Hey everyone,

First post here. I've searched lots of forums on tis topic but I seem to be in a different situation than most. So I have a 2021 Mojave, mods are a rugged ridge Hd front bumper and a quatratec stealth winch. I've got around 1,500 miles on the truck and I have never been able to get my MPG above 12. No way this seems normal. I just drive form home to work and back everyday. Any thoughts on why its so bad?
I'm on the opposite end of the state from you, down in Greenbrier County, which is quite hilly as well. I drive 140 miles round trip each day for work, then do a lot of "city" driving in the evening when picking my daughters up from their activities in Lewisburg. I've had my 22 Mojave since mid March and just turned 3,200 miles on it. I'm averaging 18.5 miles as of this evening. Some of the climbs in this neck of the woods are quite steep. Of course that works to my advantage when coasting down them, but going up means a lot of guzzling. I'm completely stock, but my rig came with the Falken MT tires. I'd think you should be getting at least 2-3 more miles per gallon, even in MoTown, if I'm getting close to 19 in the Alleghany Highlands.

ANY kind of incline will kill your mileage quickly. Even a small incline you'll see your mileage drop several mpg. If you're in a hilly area I would have suggested you get the diesel because the 3.6 hates them. I'm averaging around 20mpg (in my signature), worse in the winter and about 2+/-mpg depending on fuel blend and % of city/highway driving in IN.

What is this ā€œgas mileageā€ discussion thing? ;)
The Jeep is a drag device as it scoots down the highway looking badass as hell.:muscle:
Add on bigger tires and whatever other accessories that make it look more badass and mpg will suck even more.
Discussing the nuances of fuel efficiency in a Jeep is like discussing the fuel efficiency of an M1 Abrams tank.:giggle:
And when the electric ones comes out, we still wonā€™t have to discuss fuel efficiency. ;)
Moral of this commentary? Enjoy your badass sweet ride and donā€™t worry about the gas mileage.

Yeah, my stock mojave gets average 16 according to the dash, mix of city/hwy. worse then my old ram which would get 19 or so with the 5.7 on the same use, or durango r/t with the 5.7 which also go about 18 on the same roads. i dont even look, just fuel it when it gets low.

I know how this sounds, but that's still too fresh of an engine to have settled in and provide better mileage yet. Give it some more time. These engines have a track record of having crap mpg to start, but then getting better after an extended period. You might not see any noticeable improvement for another few thousand miles or so.

Yea I guess ill give it a bit more time and see how it shakes out. Just though a bit over 11 was crazy even for a new engine.

I was concerned about the low mileage fuel numbers as well. I recently sold my 285/70/17 Falken AT3w's and replaced them with 4 255/80/17 Falken ATA3W's. I gained nearly 2.5 miles to a gallon going from 15 to 17.5. I'll be posting pictures later this week as I am putting on the the AEV 2 inch lift. My summer tires are going to be the 35x10.50r17 Kendas.
Canā€™t wait to see the tires on your ride! Iā€™ve thought abou non-traditional sizes. Iā€™ll keep an eye out for your post.

Yeah, something's not right on a mostly stock Mojave and getting less than 12mpg. I've averaged 18.5 over the first 10,000 miles and about 7000 of those are on 35's. The factory 285/70-17's are heavy as hell, but shouldn't be hurting mileage that bad.

Yea definitely my thoughts. I could live with 14/15 in the city. But 11 seems like there is an issue. They advertise up to 17 city,. But 6 mpg below that??
