I know this is old but I just got a price for my 2025 Rubicon to have the 2 inch lift installed. Over 4200 dollars. I can do it but was just wondering didn't feel like doing it until I got the quote. I cannot bring myself to give them that stupid amount of money for a Mopar lift. I will spend the money on better parts and do it myself. Is it a crazy price?

Putting in a lift kit isn’t that hard provided you have the right tools, a little patience and mybe a friend to help.

That is a "Go Away" price. Even factoring in if that includes the price of the kit, there is about 10-12 shop hours being billed for the rest and it takes about half that time at most in a shop environment.

Yep. They really didn't want to bother with it, unless you were willing to pay enough to make it worth their time.

Yeah, I got my Mopar lift kit for ~1800 from Bam, probably a little more because of the diesel. Me and my dad put it on in the driveway over 2 days, but it we were working casually and doing other stuff too. Then about 100 bucks for an alignment after.

What's an alignment? I installed my lift in December of last year, and after almost 10k miles, still no alignment. I did not touch my tie rod, so everything was nice and straight. Just had to adjust the drag link to straighten up the steering wheel.

Just my old thinking on when you mess with any suspension things. Turns out, I think I got a marginally passable alignment from the factory, I had a tire hop show up before the lift, less after, added a bigger steering damper, kinda helped. Wasn't until I blew out my front passenger side, dealer rebuilt that half of the axle and dialed in it real well. I think I might have had a marginally passable alignment from the factory.

Just remember: measure twice before installing in your garage.
Had my aunt's van jacked up in my garage to do some work.
I hear "POP-BOING".
Look around to find what it was.
Antenna on the roof poked through my drywall ceiling!

Dealer rebuilt? By cutting the axle tubes and welding it back together?
Dealer can't change camber without using special ball joint shims, and can't change camber split - they can only change caster at all by using different control arms. If the left and right side are too far apart from each other, dealer can't possibly change that. It's impossible on a solid axle.

You're right only by cutting off the C's and welding in a new position. Or the other ways which are much more commonsense approaches.

I looked at BAMs website and it about 450 less than the local dealer wants for the lift but then it's 450 for shipping. They are in New York and I'm in Virginia. Wherever I buy it, I will be installing it myself.

I had to be patient watching BAM, they have sales and coupons codes now and then. I caught them at the right time and got both, it covered the shipping and a little extra. If you can wait they'll plop a really nice jeep crate on your front porch.
