For what its worth, I had mine together and back apart about 27 times just to get it to work. It definitely isnt fun getting all of the plastic tabs back apart for fear of breaking them.

The clear plastic male part of the button that slides into the rest of the assembly was not made correctly and it took a lot of filing before my button would pop back out on its own. It still only works if I push on the 7:00 portion of it. If I push at the top right it will stick and keep the brakes applied.

I think I somehow assembled it wrong since the knob will only rotate from 1-7 and the brakes on my dump trailer lock up even on 1, which may actually be 3. Definitely a $300 turd just to keep it Mopar...

I would hope that is just their delay in doing updates. Since it doesn't integrate with the truck computers, there should be nothing preventing it from working with the '22 models. Unless they have done something under the dash, and there is no longer room for the larger Mopar controller unit.
It works on my 22 Rubicon Deisel, short of the aforementioned issued that are not related to the Jeep.

That is an option for sure. It would be easier just to install new, fresh, than to remove this one and mess with pulling things apart, hoping the cheap plastic of the dial doesn't break, and so on.

The part that confuses me a bit is that the ones for sale are not listed to fit 2022,
they fit 2020 and 2021 only.

I think the websites just aren’t updated. There have been no changes. Similar situation for my wife’s GCL Summit. Jeep gave me the pn for the brake controller and it’s avail. The instructions are even specifically showing pictures of the new GCL but everywhere I looked at said it was for the old GC body still - still to this day actually.

Guys I just installed this weekend. Covered in bruises on my back from the fricking seat rails... I'm not a small guy. For part of it I laid upside down on the seat folded all the way down. Anyways, I don't have any way to test it now until I get the rental trailer at the end of the month.
BUT, the install went great, the only lame issue is the cable going from the module into your existing wiring harness is like 30" long to span about 2" so now there's this thick ass cable coiled up under the dash for no good damn reason.

The wreath -

The 12 volt outlet pigtail -

I modified the harness to be more of an extension instead of a way to connect another accessory to the outlet wiring.

old thread and im only half way through it...so sorry if this has already been broached or answered. Im looking at this thing and its making my eyes cross...im an idiot when it comes to wiring.

If I just sent you venmo or paypal would you be willing and able to make one of these? Id love to relocate the lighter after I install the mopar controller. But this just seems beyond me.

ive had doing this controller on my list for a while, ive just been using the echo. Im confident I can do the install easy enough. The integrated look is really what appeals to me, that and not having to have my phone on a mount in front of me the entire dang trip.

I learned a lot doing it on my 2020 so the 2022 was a lot easier.
I took out the 4 bolts holding the seat in, unplugged the harness under the seat and lifted it back several inches, giving me a ton more room. This time was a lot easier.

I can make something up no problem. I've always got my wiring and terminal tools out handy for my business. I'm now using silicone insultated wire - a lot more flexible and handles more heat, not that the dash area in these gets hot, but I like working with it.

When I did mine I had originally thought about removing their "tap" and fuse as I just knew I'd never need or use it, but resisted. So when I moved that wiring extension to my 2022, I thought maybe this is the time to take that bit out and clean it up.
I ended up using it as the power supply for my snow plow controller as it needed ACC power! There ya go, easy access, already fused, piece of cake. Glad I left that part in place!

Personally a huge fan of tekonsha brake controllers….. I like that this looks factory- but will carry the reputation of tekonsha…..

anyone have this installed yet?
This has me intrigued! Ive been looking into it and…i want to know what “reverse mode” is…

I do like that it can send you warnings and alerts if it detects that something is wrong. That’s one feature I really like about the current echo, and is the only thing that’s been giving me pause about finally pulling the trigger on an integrated brake controller.

As a heads up the Mopar controller is made by Tekonsha.
Do you know if the Mopar brake controller will show any warnings or errors on the radio? Or does it just throw a code that you have to figure out

Worked like a charm on a trip with my young kids. no error codes. worked just like you'd expect, plug and play.

Yup - and the connector is Tekonsha - sort of a give-away when I first opened the box years ago.

It's like any 3rd party controller, it doesn't integrate with anyting.
I can't imagine any errors or codes would be needed. Trailer brake controllers are extremely trouble-free.
To test the system, start moving, press the button and active the trailer brakes - you should feel the trailer pulling you back. If you don't, you either need to bump the number up a bit, or find out why your trailer brakes aren't activating.
A tell that you don't have the trailer connected is that the LED in the controller dial won't light. That's about all you need, really, as far as trouble-shooting. No LED, then it doesn't have connection to the trailer brakes as that LED grounds through the trailer brake solenoids.

Thats what I figured. Im chasing an issue that ive been able to narrow down to the trailer. I wouldn’t have noticed there was an issue without the echo alerting me to there being a power surge somewhere in my system.

makes me think I may go with the newer tekonsha since It can also give alert for issues. I just need to find its owners manual to learn a bit more

For those that don’t know how to use and adjust a trailer brake controller.
The 3:45 mark and beyond is the FF version… or just watch this video

Pretty much the same way I have setup my trucks for years. ?
