Ouch, those would get trapped in ice and freezing snow and SNAP. The hoses like that, first big snow fall if you didn't clear those lines, I can see trouble.

Anyone with real life winter experience with 'em?
Not yet. I just did this this spring. Freezing, yes, but no snow or ice.

Even if that doesn't happen the cold hardens the lines and they crack anyway. I went back to the original sprayers. These would work well in warm climates, but I couldn't find a way to make the lines last, and I tried. There needs to be a better pivot point than the hose itself.
If these hoses don't hold up, I'm gonna try some surgical tubing.
If that doesn't work, then I'll scrap the whole idea.

I really liked these as actual sprayers, the fact they use less fluid is nice and they do get the roadspray and mud off on the first wipe. I just wish they had some way of allowing the hose to pivot. I know Chevy has had the blade mounted sprayers forever but I couldn't remember how they ran the hoses and don't own one currently to look.

I must be the minority, because I've had them on since they were released and haven't observed any damage to my hoses at all.
Evidently FL heat and salt spray don't affect them like the cold does. or maybe it was in WI during the winter?

Exactly my thought, and for a general design that’s been around for decades. The POS Impala that my wife had when we met had the washer nozzle mounted in the arms.
Most if not all tractors, Freightliners, internationals, Peterbilt's, Kenworth's etc. have 'em, some snap onto the wiper arm and some use the blade mount pivot screw to hold them on. Some can be aimed as they are a small "ball in socket" that can be angled/rotated by sticking a needle into the output hole of the ball and shifting it around up down left right or in between. They clog often and you have to pull the hose off the barbed end and hit the switch to clear the hose then blow compressed air back thru the nozzle ball.

Here is my take on this mod after taking these out of storage for 2 years, finally spent the past two weeks working on them.

Nothing new to add in terms of technique but what I found worked the best (minimal friction and snags when wipers are working) is to NOT route the fluid hose into the spring coil of the wiper arm. By NOT doing so, there is more give to the hose and its not super taunt where it bends sharply resulting in broken hoses. I used black zip ties to tie the hose to the mid wiper arm length for now.

Going on a roadtrip to BOS & PHIL in two weeks so will report back after some solid driving thru winter weather.

Here's how it looks like. Before when I had the hose routed thru the wiper arm coils, I had breakage right at the end of the quick connector point (wiper side). You can see there is less stress on that point with the hoses routed outside of wiper arms.

PS. and no...you aren't being rick rolled. song came on 80s on 8 SiriusXM. lol

First time seeing this thread. I'm in North Texas and rarely see a freeze. I have had them for two years and they dump a lot of fluid and work great when they are not broke. Mine have snapped twice, at the joint when connecting them per the instructions. Just did it again, but I cant work on them, due to Cancer surgery recovery, but will read this thread. May have to put this back to stock.

wishing you a speedy recovery bud.

when you say its snapped twice at the joint, where is the actual breakage? Right at the two quick connectors? Mine broke where the hose (wipe side) slips into the quick connector. The quick connectors themselves have been fine so far but I will heat wrap shrink them later to prevent any build up of snow/ice/debris.

Your Right, “joint” was a bad choice of words. Always just below the coupling, same as you.

Anyone have a good link for buying replacement blades? My second set from the initial purchase is starting to go….

Pretty sure it's just buy a new kit. I don't think they ever released replacement blades.
