How is it lifting the bikes up onto the rack? Easy enough?

For me it's no problem. I am 6 foot and these are not the lightest bikes in the world. I grab it by the front fork and rear triangle and place it in the rack. My gf has a hard time with it, so I always load and unload her bike too. I have the trays positioned as far out on the crossbars as possible so I am not reaching too far into the bed.

Also if needed I could add 2 more trays and carry 4 bikes.

I don't ride a bike anymore, but if I had one, I would hook a chain to it, attach it to the bumper and drag it. :)

I use a Rocky Mount tray on KBVoodoo crossbars.

Thanks - any chance you can post a link for purchase? Did you buy something off the shelf like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HYJK7KT/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3Y1QUTQCENUC&psc=1

Or did you jerry rig something (apologies to people named Jerry...).

PS - looking forward to the snow today!! Hopefully my last snowstorm pulling people out of ditches with my rover - my JTR is supposed to arrive 12/28!!!
Congrats on the new JT, I've had mine for just over a year now and it's been everything I'd hoped for. Been fun slowly building it, still a ways to go.

I used this (though I recommend a higher quality mount but it works)
https://www.amazon.com/MBP-Alloy-Re...bike+mount&qid=1608752490&s=automotive&sr=1-3

And then bought 4 channel nuts, 4 bolts, and 8 washers
https://www.mcmaster.com/channel-nuts/strut-channel-nuts-6/

I had to drill out the holes in the mount and then I just bolted everything in. I have the built right utility rail system (aftermarket version of the mopar trail rail)

Would a bike fit, with the front wheel off, in the rear seats area? Looking at getting a JT in the spring/summer. Would want to keep my triathlon bike inside rather than in the bed.

Thank you! Didn't realize I could buy the channel hardware separately. Was thinking I'd have to make something. Thanks for saving me a bunch of time! Drive safe today! Snowing like crazy out here in the west metro

It depends, I am able to get my road and gravel bikes in the rear seat area. The aero bars may cause an issue, for reference mine are 56cm and barely fit.

I think it's discontinued now, but I used one of these in my old trucks before I got my Wrangler:
https://yakima.com/products/beddyjo

Ridiculously easy to use. Installs/removes in mere moments. Super low tech, but gets the job done and no permanent commitment of bed real estate. I'll dust it off for my Gladiator if I ever get around to buying one.

Usually do this to get the bikes to the trailhead. Rocky mount fork mounts directly mounted to the front trail rail bar. It does the trick but the clearance for a through axle mount is really close to the tonneau cover so it’s a pain to do it every time. Takes a lot of patience and will power. I think the Voodoo rack and Yakima high road upright racks is the best option. My YT Decoy is too long to close the bed so the backup camera is useless and the storage with 3-4 bikes is almost nonexistent the way I’m doing it now...

Thanks. Yep I have fork mounts attached to the trail rail system
Rocky Mounts make a fork mount for QR and Thru axels that direct fit in the trail rail rack.

https://www.amazon.com/RockyMounts-LoBall-Track-quick-release/dp/B019709IBU?ref_=ast_sto_dp

I have one on each side and adapters so I can switch between QR for road and thru axle for gravel / MTN bikes.

I also have a Thule hitch mount. But I prefer the fork mount in the bed because the hitch mount blocks the camera and causes havoc with the backup sensors.

I use the QR and through axle fork mounts on my trail rail system as well, but the through axle is tough to use with the tonneau cover... and my bike is an inch too long to fit with the tailgate open so I lose the backup cam...
