The only variable is that it is not an actual German ZF. Its made under license by Chrysler in the US.

That introduces variables such as machining tolerances, quality of metallurgy, etc.
Might check out that fine print. When you license an item for manufacture, it's pretty strictly spelled out what the criteria is. You mess up, you lose that ability to make them. They don't want their reputation tarnished by junk made elsewhere in their name. Germans are very picky. I found that out when dealing with their software. They'd not allow us to do upgrades on our own servers - they wanted complete control of all modifications. Similar for German printing press parts - have one of their presses break down and you get a visit from a German engineer.

My Sport S did the same yesterday only 1200 miles. Dealer had to replace the AUX battery and the Z fuse. I haven't don't any mods to mine at all. Said Jeep bought bad batteries. They told me the same story when the aux battery died in my 2018 GC, one would think 3 years later they would stop using the bad batteries

Did you special order your JT or did you buy it off the lot?

ESS stopped working on my wife's 2018 WK2 as well. Dealer replaced BOTH batteries (this was late last summer) and said that they've "been seeing a lot of this lately".
Yeah, you'd think 3 model years later!

We had to replace the ess bat in the wifes pacifica when it was just 1.5 yrs old... not a jeep but same engine. Those ess batteries are little motorcycle style batteries and every motorcycle battery ive owned (and its a lot of them) didnt last long unless they are on a trickle charger. Problem is (atleast on her pacifica) it didnt start charging the battery until after the main battery is fully charged and the short little trips we were taking werent enough to keep things fully charged so that little battery wasnt getting charged often enough.

Decades ago, I had these exact symptoms. I pulled into an Auto Zone, bought a new computer, swapped it out, turned the old computer in for a core charge. That fixed the issue. That car had one computer though.
