If Jeep could address their reliability issues and improve their subpar reputation in that area, I feel their sales have plenty of room for growth. Jeep is an iconic brand with a loyal customer base some manufacturers would love to have! It takes a special kind of idiocracy to screw that up, but Stellantis has been giving it a go.

They aren’t going to fix this damaged reputation overnight. They need to start by acknowledging it and communicating their plans/actions to address it. Burying their head in the sand and being quiet about it has done them no favors. One thing would be to acknowledge the current Pentastar value train issue and start by extending the power train warranty for those engines to 7/100,000. Wouldn’t be cheap but I would argue ignoring the problem has cost them more.
I heard in 2026 Ram is going to start offering a 10 year, 100,000 mile power train warranty for their trucks. Maybe Jeep will follow suit. That could help restore some of the lost confidence with customers.

If Hyundai and Kia can do it, I don't see why Jeep can't. It would certainly add a perception of value to the product.

Unfortunately, in my experience perception has proven to be a mediocre predictor of reality. I'd much rather see and hear about actual improvements in quality, reliability, and availability of repair parts than to see a "New and Improved Warranty!!" label applied. Not saying the gesture wouldn't be appreciated, but it's not terribly comforting having a longer warranty if you end up being one of the poor bastards repeatedly having problems and the vehicle sits waiting on parts for weeks or months at a time.

Yep. The warranty is useless when your vehicle has to sit at the dealer for months with no loaner.

I agree. I value my times. I'd rather have a good built product than be wasting my times dealing with the dealers for repairs.

Mine nearly 12yr old 2014 Lexus IS350 F Sport is the most reliable vehicle that i've ever owned, first model year too. Not a single warranty service, just needed oil/fluid changes, a set of front rotor/pads and a battery. There's no rust anywhere on the aluminum or steel panels. Going to pass it down to my son as his first car. So a GX550 Overtrail for my wife's next vehicle was a no brainer.

My 2015 Ram 1500 had that. It saved me on the Tick fix... I had it once at 30K miles, replaced the bolts, and at 60K replaced manifold and put in titanium bolts according to the tech. They didn't do that on first times. Traded in at 70K so never an issue after.

But...in 2016, Ram reduced the power train warranty to 60K and five years.

So, basically just back to the same as 2015 and before to 2013 I believe.

My dealership had a tech whose primary job was replacing the bolts on 5.7s. they usually get them back to your quick if all it is is the bolts and most of the time it is if you don't drive ticking for 10 or 15K miles. The second time at 60K miles he told me they authorized titanium bolts and I shouldn't have anymore problems. That's what he put in his and he didn't know why they didn't just do it from the gitgo... And remember, they had a 100K drive train warranty until 2016 when they shortened it to 60K. I bet money they did a study on WHEN they break miles/timeframe before making that change.

He said most of the time they were easy to replace with the removal being the potential issue. It depended upon how they broke and that was the "art" of fixing them (getting the bolts out without damage). That was why they dedicated him to the job in that dealership.

I hate it when you get to know people that well who fix your vehicle but like that he was there...
