It was. Just a longer version of itThe original Caravan was a k-car.
I believe there were four or five versions of that platform, ranging from "size matters" to "it's how you use it".It was. Just a longer version of it
I've had both, a Reliant K and a Caravan.I believe there were four or five versions of that platform, ranging from "size matters" to "it's how you use it".![]()
When was this?? The original Lee Iaccoca situation was not taxpayers saving.. All the media hype was calling it a loan.. IT was NOT.. Chrysler had to get banks to lend the $$ and the Government co-signed the paperwork..BTW the employees, dealers, customers all worked in paying it off in record time ahead of due date.Taxpayers saved them. Again.
That is called taxpayer funding. Without the ”co-signor” AKA GUARANTOR, the banks never would have loaned the money. In other words, the banks made money off of the taxpayers backs while saving Chrysler’s rear. So it was in fact a taxpayer funded bailout.…. and the Government co-signed the paperwork …
That's not how it works, Chrysler paid off the loan. That is called taxpayer funding. Without the ”co-signor” AKA GUARANTOR, the banks never would have loaned the money. In other words, the banks made money off of the taxpayers backs while saving Chrysler’s rear. So it was in fact a taxpayer funded bailout.
You say that as if it were a good thing.Say what you will about the K-cars, they saved Chrysler.
It was for everyone who worked there, plus that saved Dodge and Ram. If it wasn't for the K-cars we wouldn't have the Hellcat V8 today. You say that as if it were a good thing.
Ah yes, the late 80’s wood panelled Dodge Caravan. We had one and it constantly broke down. Dad never bought another Chrysler product again. The original Caravan was a k-car.
