Got my first real honest to goodness Wave yesterday, with a couple of spirited appreciative thumbs up from a JL.

My problem is that I wave at Jeeps when I’m driving my Lexus. Get some funny looks trying to figure out who I am. I know I’m not the only one because I have been waved to in The Jeep by guys driving mini vans.

Long trip this weekend. More waves than I could handle by myself. My non jeep experienced wife asks me about 30 minutes or so into the ride. "Why are they waving at you?" It's a jeep thing. She did the waving the rest of the trip.:)

When I picked up my wife during the extended test drive for her turn behind the wheel, it was a prerequisite. Had to explain what to do. Every Jeep we passed she waved at and got a wave in return. We’ll see how long she lasts when ours actually arrives!

Living in Denver, waving at all the jeeps you see would not even be possible while driving in metro traffic, it's like one out of 10 vehicles. I tend to still wave to built/lifted jeeps or in situations where there is obvious eye contact. I'd wave at a Gladiator but only seen a few around parked so far.
So true... Every 8th or 9th vehicle on the road is a Wrangler of some model....

My wife drives a LJ as her daily driver and she yells at me if I miss a wave...

It's hard where I live because there are some many Jeeps on the road... *Love it!

I have noticed more of the JL crowd don't seem to wave back as much.... I think some might not be aware. *Benefit of the doubt..

You can't tell a Gladiator from a JL driving towards each other, so I don't think it's a Gladiator "thing"..

I wave 80% to 90% of the time and 80% of the time the other person waves back...

I test drove one today and got my first Jeep wave. It made me feel special and want to buy the truck even more now. Haha.

Same ... I pass dozens on my way home from work. I had a TJ for 14 years and waved at everyone, and nearly everyone waved back. I’m at the point with the Gladiator I’ve quit initiating the wave. I still wave like Forrest above at Gladiators (see at least one a day), but have yet to have one wave back.

We are waving non-stop and, initially, I let the other drivers initiate it just so I didn't feel like a jackass. Now I feel like a jackass because when we're in one of our other Jeeps, I am waving at Wranglers forgetting I am not in the JT

I get a lot of waves. 90% of guys wave. Maybe 5% of gals wave. I'm done waving at the ladies. It's either they are naive or annoyed with the concept. No offense to those female members or visitors that do participate ;).
I get waves from most Jeeps. I have noticed that Male drivers seem to be more likely to wave than Female ones as well, though I have had a few female jeep drivers that were really excited to see a Jeep on the road.

My "theory" on the gender difference is that it's mostly because most Jeep drivers are male. A few of them don't wave either, but the percentage is less noticeable just because there's tons more male drivers. I'm betting the "non wavers" break down as follows regardless of gender:
>New to Jeeps and don't get it yet.
>Didn't notice your wave for whatever reason
>Encounter too many Jeeps and have given up on it.
>Don't care

Being new to Jeeps myself, I didn't realize the first few times. But coming from the motorcycle community, I quickly got it. Bikers have been waving for eons.

I grew up around Corvette's and was always taught that the newer Vette waved to the older Vette first as a sign of respect. So, being a 2020 Jeep... I wave at everyone! As to the question first asked, I would say it's about a 90% wave back
