I’ve asked in other threads but it kind of got buried and never answered.

Air bags…. I’m coming from a Tacoma and never considered them. I’m an going to be putting them in the rear shortly.

Do people put them in front? Solid front axle is new to me so I just don’t know these things

If you need airbags in the front you need to get rid of your cast iron bumpers and winch, and maybe take the pallet of cinder blocks off the hood. ;)

ive seen people say their front settled down an inch or so with a number and winch so I was just curious.

I put my quad in the bed so air bags in the rear make sense

I guess the real question is, “How EXACTLY do in coil airbags effect the suspension?” Then we could determine what benefits if any we would get for a front axle application? I know there some real experts on this type thing so let’s hear the details.

@KurtP what say you?
springs store, dampers dissipate.

increasing spring rate to match load is fine and wont ruin anything beyond what adding weight does naturally.

im pretty well at the Fabtech spring limit with ARB bumper, Winch, and now blower and may go stiffer. My rear doesnt need airbags, but i did change to a more active and aggressive bump stop to control blow-through from weight.

adding airbags for intermittent loads is the right answer. Increasing spring rate for constant load is the right answer.

I knew you would have the right answer! Thanks for your wisdom.

So “a more active and aggressive bump stop” is like Timbren SES?

The same for mine. The option is in the App menu but is deactivated until you turn it on via the settings. That has to be done each time you want to use it.

It is pretty handy. I don’t know why they make it so difficult.
Bought March 2021. Mine is the same on 8.4 inch radio. Had to set it through the radio.

i didnt do SES. That’sfor additional bed/towing load. I did the timbren active off road stops.

i can feel them create a little imbalance with the front when the bed is unladen. But with gear in the bed at speed off road they are great very smooth axle engagement.

Is the imbalanced feeling that the Timbrens are a bit more “active” than the Fox fluid bumps up front?

no, the return of the energy is extremely fluid, and feels surprisingly similar to a hydro stop.

the slight imbalance comes from a combination of the weight on my front springs (blower, extra coolant, arb bondi bumber, 12k winch) and the fact that these bump stops have a slight spring rate effect to them at axle engagement. It effectively makes the initial part of the spring ever so slightly stiffer, in a digressive fashion.

put a little weight in the bed, or even passengers in the back and it goes away. I expect when i stiffen my spring rates, it will go away.

i can explain in a video if people want.

That is the menu I get. Select it and then the “Select Tire Fill Alert” icon become active.

Hope that helps.
Humm wish we could what version of software we uave, I dont have that all. Maybe the 7" no longer get it, even though I dont see its 8.4" option.

At the bottom of your screen it says "6 items in list". Only four are visible. Can you hit the down arrow to reveal others?
