Just a short update:

Got a PM from the JeepCares team. They confirmed what you all said, that I was enrolled in the Wave program the day I took delivery truck my truck. Dealership never told me about this to me and I also never got anything in the mail from Jeep about it after I took delivery of my truck. I found out about the Wave program after I had already paid the my first oil change. Dealership even told me that I had to go on line to get enrolled into the Wave program. I totally agree that this dealership just wants to make money by doing frequent oil changes. Really shocked that they expect people to believe that oil is good for only 3000 miles.

Just got my first tire rotation done today under the Wave program. Kudos to @JeepCares for their good help here.

I agree - they got involved in my tonneau cover dilemma (it sagged - badly) after two dealers said it was fine. They contacted a specialist who opened a case, I presented my info and case number to the dealer, along with pictures from great forum members, next thing I know - a new cover is ordered. It's fine now.

Glad to hear. No brand new hard tonneau cover should sag, period, end of story. A picture of the sagging should suffice. Glad it’s replaced with one that does not sag.

Just had my first oil change done at a local Jiffy Lube. Truck is right at 6,000 miles. Manager there immediately pointed it out to me that the PCV hose was not connected. This had to have been factory sloppiness. It’s not a big deal, will hardly affect the engine performance. But still pretty bad to have a new truck get shipped out without this being connected. Y’all might want to check your trucks to make certain they are connected.
Damn, that was the factory. Luckily I opened my hood the day after I bought and my hose was disconnected. I plugged it back in and sent my salesman an email about their PDI skills.

Will check it tomorrow, going out tonight. Will be highly ticked off if they gave me bad info. Still have not heard back from @JeepCares but they may not work on weekends or today since it’s MLK Day.
It’s by your VIN and the dealer may not even realize..not to defend them....they should know this...but you go on jeep wave site and put your vin in...boom you will see oil changes / tire rotations left etc

I mean, honestly that's a good point. Yesterday my oil life monitor on the dash went into the "red zone" at 4%. It was 16° outside with a breeze and the last thing I wanted to do was work on the Jeep, but it takes literally 5-10 minutes to do an oil change on these. This is the easiest vehicle a person will ever do an oil change on. You don't even need jack stands.

Crawl under, pop the drain plug, let oil drain into pan, while it's draining pop the oil filter cap off with a 24mm socket, swap oil filters, screw cap back on, now oil underneath is finished draining so pop the drain plug back in. Empty one 5 quart jug from Walmart into the fill port.

The oil is $14.88 for 5 quarts at Walmart now and testing has shown it's very good oil. Mopar 349 filter is $9.97 at Walmart. I got it done so fast that I didn't even really get chilled in the 16° breeze. And I know it was done right.

Unless a guy lives in an apartment complex that prohibits it, most of us should be changing our own oil. It helps a person learn basic mechanics if they don't have experience, and it bonds you with the Jeep. It also saves money and hassle.
I completely agree with you...I also completely agree with someone else doing it when it’s 16 out :)

as for cost reference my dealer was going to charge $150ish for oil and tire rotation so yes diy is better...although I also like free

Hey @Incommando the $150 is for an oil change AND a tire rotation. I suspect that the $39.95 that you refer to may be for just an oil change with normal oil (not a synthetic oil) or it’s just for a tire rotation. I doubt anyone will do both the oil change and a tire rotation for a total of just $38.95

My mistake. It is $58.99 with synthetic when purchased as a 3-pack

Being a car (and truck) guy for the last 48 years, i would never let my initial oil change go for a long period. I dont care what the book or the idiot gauge tells you. Engine break in occures whether its dino oil or syn, and it needs dumped after a couple thousand miles. Seems like a waste? Cut your first change oil filter open and shine a light in it...all kinds of sparkly stuff. After that, go the recommended intervals. Ive used Amsoil and Mobil 1 for many years, and no matter if they say you can go 25k miles between changes, in the small writing its says when using oil testing services. Ive used 8k for interval on my cars and light trucks, and 6k on my diesels, even using Mobil 1...cheap insurance for long life

I hadn't noticed until I was installing my winch a couple weeks ago, the dealership on their last oil change didn't seat the air inlet back on the air filter outlet completely, and then cranked down the worm gear with the tube being deformed. It's before the MAF, so the JT had adjusted and I never noticed any difference, but it had a small opening for unfiltered air to get in. I only have 1 more free oil change in my Jeep Wave package, so I'll verify they don't mess up again after the final one is completed.
