Has anyone tried this aftermarket oil filter?

It's cheap, wondering if it's any good? According to my dealer it's the right part number.

Some guys say $15 more is peace of mind for 8,000 miles of use from a very expensive diesel, so they stick with Mopar. I'm kind of in that boat.

i used "ONER Engine Oil Filter" (amazon search) without any problems ,replaced after 8000 miles with ecogard s11880

I bought an Ecoguard filter to compare and base on my observations, i wouldn't use it. The anti drain back valve has a different design than oem, and the filter cartridge is also different (wouldn't fit the oem housing).

The valve body is hold in place by 4 screws that screwed into the PLASTIC housing body and the valve is spring loaded with an o-ring that can easily come loose.

Overall, it's just a bad design with really cheap looking plastic valve, and potentially screws plus o-ring get sucks into the engine.

We can only guess if the spring is even rated to match with filters micron rating.

Anything that could come loose and go in the engine is a no go for me,don't be cheap and just spend the couple bucks on a oem Mopar oil filter and housing,it's just not worth it to me imo
