I have the up down air setup under the hood, compressor inside the cab, may move the up down air setup in the cab as well it runs chucks to all four wheels and you centrally set tire pressure up or down

Any problems from heat with it running for a length of time?
when I use it, I put the a/c on and turn it allthe way cold With only the heat ducts in
 blows cold air on it.
Never had an issue with heat while underneath the seat. The bracket covers the top so it doesn’t heat soak the seat.
I used to have my twin under the hood by the cats
it got heat soaked badly but never turned off.

I've been running the Smittybilt 2781 portable compressor in my Tacoma for the last 5 years. It has 5.65 CFM and costs under $200. I hardwired it with a fuse in line straight to my battery and mounted it in my bed with a custom-made bracket that I attach on to my bed rail. It works pretty awesome and costs a fraction of the price. Now say I was going to use it for lockers then I definitely would go with the ARB setup. But since I only use it for airing up and airing down it serves the purpose. In the last couple months I did the same thing and mounted one also in the bed of my Gladiator with the custom bracket I made. It's super easy to access and stays dry under my bed cover. My newest addition to my setup is using the Morrflate system. Basically I just pull it out of its bag and attach it to each tire valve with a snap and I can deflate all four down the 19 PSI in less than a minute. I can also combine it with my smittybilt air compressors and it takes me about 3 to 5 minutes to inflate all four tires. I'm super stoked with this combo as life is so much easier airing up and down.
I'll second the Smitty... better CFM than the ARB at less than 1/2 the price. I don't know why this isn't more popular for aftermarket kits, other than the size? The chuck is a Japanese (I think) standard for some reason, but there are a handful of YT videos on how to easily modify it for standard 1/4" stuff for about $2.00.

I received an email from EPIC indicating they were taking orders for their Kraken system. It won’t be shipping until the week of 5-14 to 5-20
so I got one and it’s been confirmed.

To be honest, I’m not crazy of how their plate mounts the twin ARB (not included) under the seat. Not that I plan on having anyone sit back there but it looks like the air filters hang into the foot space in the back seat. I’m also not thrilled with the minimal shielding it provides on the top. I understand that it requires a T fitting for access ports on both front seats, but I don’t want to melt anything either. My worries may be unfounded, but I’d sure like to figure out a way to mount the compressor behind the rear seat.

One of the photos below does confirm the floor vent does dump right in front of the compressor.

Hey Doug, I have a Behind the Rear Seat mount with options for single or dual air couplers as well as the ARB manifold. Let me know if you have any questions about them.

No, I have not heard of any. We recommend if you are going to run the compressor long enough to fill tires that you should drop the rear seat so that the heat disperses. I have had several customer also add adhesive heat shield to the back of the seat for extra precaution.

Great. I may give you a call. I like the idea of that location plus being able to air all 4 at the same time. A buddy of mine is a custom cabinet builder I think I can talk into building a custom platform and/or sliders at some point so the rear seat may not last long anyway.

I've been running a simiilar system for just over year and love it. Difference being my system has a blow off valve and gauge. Can set preset for air dow and air up. I also have had a portable unit for years. The difference between the two is pure convenience. I use the onboard system a whole lot more and that makes it worth the cost.

How interesting. Some of the components appear to be the same or very similar.
