Looks Awesome! How much did the front drop when you added the winch? I am thinking 35's and was wondering if I'd need a spacer upfront to keep it level.

Function before form, there are no free rides here.

The tires establish the final drive ratio, they are an engineered component, not a cosmetic afterthought.

Need more clearance but can't afford to lose power? Then lift it and leave the oem 33's on it. Changing tire dimensions WILL affect power and economy that is not debatable. So if those are your circumstances and you are not willing to drop $2k on a regear, you'll have to live with a look you don't like or accept the power/economy losses

If it is purely a cosmetic concern and power/economy sacrifices are a secondary concern, then put the biggest tires under it that you can make happen.

I'm old and cut my teeth on trucks with what by today's standards were rediculously small tires. Nothing looks better to me than old Power Wagons, Jeeps, Wagoneers, etc with skinniesaand it wasn't that long ago that 33s stock were unheard of.

Personally I need and want every calorie out of the little engine I can get, and am disinterested in spending $2k on a regear. It is yet to be seen if I need the extra ground clearance, but if I do it will be a 2" Mopar on the stock 33's.

Thank you all for the responses. There’s some great information and some beautiful Gladiators in this thread.

I’m going to order and install the Mopar and see how it goes

I’ll be sure to post pics and a tiny review

Thank you

Here is mine with 2" Mopar and OEM meats. I don't want it even more gutless than it already is. Not sure if I'm going to get 35s when these wear or not.

I want 35's with no lift. Was the spacer you added required to prevent rubbing?
No, there was no running, I just wanted to lose the extreme amount of rake the stock suspension had.
