It's time to replace my batteries on my 2020 Mojave and I'm looking for opinions.

After doing my due diligence it looks like Optima is the standard for quality, but I'm not sure which one is best. I see a lot of people installing the Redtop but the yellow looks like a better option with all the extras we have on or vehicles. I'm in a mild weather area of Cali so I don't need the CCA and any heavy draw stuff has it's own power source, but I do have parking cam, alarm and small things that run off the main. Also it's not a commute vehicle so it's driven 2-3 days most weeks in between longer road trips.

Yellowtop H7
880 CCA
155 Res
$359
3-Year Warranty

Redtop
Performance
730CCA
130 Res
$324
4-Year Warranty

Update: It was actually the redtop Odyssey I saw in the [Banned Site] video not the Optima. So is Odyssey that much better? The specs are lower than the Yellowtop Optima

Odyssey Performance H6
760 CCA
140 Res
$349

I have Yellow also don't forget to replace the Aux battery too.
Definitely will do at the same time. I din't include it because there's not much option there but always open to recommendations.

This is what I put in about a year ago.
ACDelco Battery Asm - 94RAGM https://a.co/d/fXaW9Zo

You'll also need one of these.
ACDelco Gold AUX14-200 36 Month Warranty Auxiliary AGM 200 CCA Battery https://a.co/d/g5newgT
Thanks... This is exactly what I'm wondering. Have the standard battery companies caught up or does Optima still have an advantage. In the end 3-years is 3-years.

Optima has no advantage. Odyssey is from what I've heard a better battery.

I have read that Optima quality is not what it used to be since production has been moved.

I just couldn't justify the extra $200 for the Optima. I paid about $155 for the ACDelco Battery from Amazon. Delivery was free, and I didn't have to deal with the core return. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with getting a warranty replacement. It's held up well for the first year.

Thanks..... I just spent an hour watching reviews on the Optima. You probably saved me from a bad experience. I got confused with the Redtop! hahaha

I found I can get the Odyssey locally for a good price and it looks to be the best battery.

I agree with this. I have a yellow top in my TJ - it has failed 3 times. Thankfully it was replaced for free 3 times - this one seems to be doing ok for the past year since replacement.

I have been happy so far with the full river batteries in the JT and think I will go that route with the TJ as well in the future. Too many Optimas for me have gone bad, and the tech has caught up enough where other manufacturers have just as good if not better designs and stronger internal connections.

Been a parts store manager for 10 years. Optimas are not what they used to be. Enersys originally designed them. Then sold the patent to Johnson Controls. JC took Optima to Mexico. The lead in the Optimas has fillers now. We see returns on them frequently within the warranty period. More than there should be.

Enersys makes the Odyssey. The lead is 99.9% pure, made in the USA as someone previously pointed out, and the plates run top to bottom. Virtually no head space. Larger plates = more amps. Brass posts, Pulse Cranking Amps, also a traditional rectangular design all benefits. The "6 pack" round coils of an Optima look cool but all those spaces around the coils are wasted. There could be plates there making more power.

Just my 2¢
