So, I have a dislike of the shoebox looking rear taillight on the Gladiator. I bought Oracles flush mount set. Upon being delivered I opened the box to inspect the pieces and found that the positive wire on one of the ballasts was broken at the solder point. While I appreciate that Oracle does in fact solder the wires, their quality control must leave much to be desired. Someone actually put the broken piece in the box.

I admit that I’m a little impatient. It was this past weekend and being a holiday no one at Quadratech or Oracle was available. I left messages, sent pictures, asked for a new harness to replace the broken one. Then like I said, I’m impatient. So I resoldered the broken wire to the resistor. I installed my lights and everything works fine and I like the look.

What kind of problems has anyone had with these aftermarket light fixtures? If they put a visibly broken piece into the box for shipping I worry about the quality of the part. As you know these led lights are not cheap.

So, Oracle and me are square. I received a replacement resistor. The lights are installed and look much better than original.

Definitely reach out to Oracle and they will get you squared away. I'm not 100% sold on their quality vs price but they will fix any issues you have. I recently had the BI-LED headlights replaced due to some issues and they were quick at responding and getting a replacement sent out. Just make sure you take pictures (which you said you did) and fill out the form on their website.

A solder joint like that could have just as likely broken in transit as it could've happened during packaging. Happens with other products too. Point is, you won't know where or why it happened, and nothing is 100%. Don't let one small incident like this turn into a fallacy in your mind about the rest of the lights. There's nothing here to indicate a systemic problem, and even if it did, it would be with this resistor harness rather than the lights themselves. Just like with any other product, one error detected after shipment doesn't make the entire line of that product inherently bad.

Either way, this is why product warranties exist, and why Oracle will get you sorted out with whatever replacement is needed.

The Oracle ones look very good and the price is right. Combat off road just came out with some Aluminum flush ones. They are a lot more money than the Oracle ones, and I am not sure on the looks, but, here is a link anyway...

PS. I am still running the stock JTR LED tail lights. I have not broken mine yet, although, I have come very close many times, and did touch one on a rock one time... lol..

I saw, and had hands on time with the Combat Offroad lights in the vendor area of PCB Jeep Jam. They are the only after market tail-light system that is durable. The ONLY small complaints that I could have; 1. the housing needs to be color-matched to the rig or black paint/vinyl surround the lights and across the tailgate; 2. I don't like visible logos on the parts.

Yeah those are very nice but yes a little pricey. There are cheaper lights out there but I’m not looking for cheap. It just seems that all the ghouls come out after you bought something and have a problem with it.

I resoldered the wire and installed the lights. I like them. They look good. The quality is good in my opinion. I was just interested in problems that others have had. Someone always has something negative to say if you have a problem. I was not being negative, I installed the lights on my 2023 so I’m happy. Looking at their headlights now.

Don't dig into that can of worms. There are plenty of threads bashing the quality of Oracle. I just got the headlights in satin silver and had some quality issues that they took care of. If I were to do it again, I would get the morimoto super 7s. I personally don't think the oracles are worth $500 mainly because light output isn't that great and I've had 2 warranty replacements in 2 months. Oracle's customer service is great but the quality, not so much.
Thank. That’s the kind of comment that saves me money and time. Good luck with your lights.

I had a wire on one of the taillights reverse light break at a solder joint. I looked closely at all the solder joints and some of them looked like they were much to cold. They need to be bright and shiny when done correctly. So yes they have some issues in QC. I just fixed them because I am impatient too!

I’ve been running the Oracle taillights and headlights for 15k miles and have had zero issues with quality or function.
