2023 WIllys, 8400 miles, bought new in March of last year.

The past 3 times I filled up (all at different pumps) the pump would kick off and a cup of gas would shoot out of the filler neck. The most recent time I even held the flow down to a low rate and as soon as it clicked - burp, gas.

Quite annoying, but that's what warranties are for. Took it in and it was confirmed to need a new filler neck. (no word on what was wrong with the old one, but I'll chat up the tech when I pick it up and report back).

Thought I'd post this up here for any folks with newer (or older) trucks who may be dealing with the same thing.

My 21 did the same thing. Started after about 2 years of owning it. Dealership “fixed it” but it still does it sometimes. I wrap paper towels around the nozzle just in case so it doesn’t spill all over the paint.

Mine does that if I try to top off. I always have to resist the urge to go back and get a bit more in after the nozzle clicks off when it’s full.

Update: new neck on order, they say it’ll be 5 days before it shows up so I just gotta take the truck back and carry a rag in the meantime 🤣

I'd be curious to know what the "fix" is as well. My 2021 does it....but for now I just stopped goign to the one local station where it always happened.

My guess would be it's something internal with the check valve but I'll see what kind of info I can get out of the techs when it gets replaced.

I've had that same problem for 3 years now, just assumed it was how FCA designed the filler neck.
No joking, I've got a "TJ" Unlimited that does it at times too, so I'm kinda just use to it.... thinking about it my Comanche and XJ's would do that too at times. 🤔
So it must be a design feature. 🤪

It's a Jeep thing. Doesn't matters whether it's 1950 or 2024, Jeep will always gonna find ways to screws up some basic shit.

I assume it is the same issue with that RAM is having, but with RAM it kicks off all the time.

Basically they replace the neck and hope for the best.

But if they’re replacing it with the same neck. . . ? 🥴😂
