I’ve been reading and searching this forum for a week. Seems like I should do the jks 3.5 lift w fox shocks. I was originally going to do the 2.5 Clayton but seems a bit stuffed w 35’s on an overland. Looks great on rubicon and Mojave.

I will mainly be commuting 40 miles a day highway for work and occasional light trail use.

looking for opinions. Could go 37s but have 3:73 gears. Is 3.5 too tall and other driveline mods needed? Thinking of sticking w 35/s.

You can put 37s on an overland with just a 2.5” front spacer. 35s shouldn’t be bad at all. 2.5” is more than enough for 35s. If you want to go 37s you can still get away with a 2.5” but ideally a 3.5” would be fine too.

I have a 22 Sport Max Tow, Clayton 2.5" Lift with Bilstein Shocks, and 37x12.50R17 Kenda MT2's. To me, this is the perfect balance between Daily Driver, Off-roader, and Overlander. No problems stuffing in the fenders when disconnected, and I'm not too tall that I have to worry about my center of gravity. And I wheel comfortably without my drive shafts binding. Fit perfect in my garage at home. Fit perfect in my parking garage at work.

I also went Clayton Overland lift 2.5 but stayed with the Rubicon take off tires. Not a fan of the stuffed look.

I have a Clayton 2.5" lift with 35s and the low fenders. I don't think it looks stuffed at all.

Wow those both have a lot of lift for 2.5. Must be different amongst brands.
Clayton is 1500 plus buy your own shocks. I was trying to keep it around 1200 for a full kit like the jks

You can get a little bit of a deal on the Clayton lift. I think mine was 20% off.

The lesser expensive JKS kit in that price range does not include control arms or a rear track bar. I think the Clayton kit is a better deal.

I've had my Overland since June 2019. I originally had 35s, but I went to 37s about four years ago. All I had was a Mopar lift with 3/4" spacer up front. I rock crawled and offroad with that setup until about 10 months ago when I installed a 3.5" Metalcloak lift. I wanted more clearance for rock crawling and I'm now about to go to 40s. I had the original 3.73s and now have 5.38s. 2.5" is enough for 37s.

I havent ever heard of Clayton or evo before. JKS and BDS I know well from back in the day. The kit comes with track bars and everything from JKS. Sounds like I need 3.5 over the 2.5 though. And what offset wheels. 4.5?

Clayton has been around for about 25 years. EVO is a little newer to the game. They've been around 10-15 years. Both make nice parts.

What JKS kit are you looking at? I don't see front and rear track bars with any of their kits.

For offset, do you want the tires tucked under the flares as much as possible, or do you want them to stick out? The 4.5 you mentioned is backspacing in inches.

Got the 2.5 Clayton installed. It looks good but I’m a bit disappointed in how it handles now.
