I couldn’t seem to find an answer to my specific question.

How are folks plugging the holes in their beds? Specifically the round holes near the D-rings near the forward of the bed, and the round and oval hole behind the loops at the rear of the bed?

I’m trying to seal it up against dust, before putting a camper on it. I know about needing to seal the tailgate, but I think a lot of dust comes in through these holes too. Or don’t they?

Although I am putting in a bed rug. I took hd hvac cold weather aluminum tape and taped them up. Also used the bubble type insulation. May have some issues with the bedrug time will tell with the bubble foil insulation. But with my alucab canopy camper I have been able to seal up the bed 100% without dust intrusion.

I haven’t sealed up my Gladiator bed yet as I usually have it uncovered, but I sealed up the holes in my Ram 2500’s bed with Gorilla tape. Held strong for over a year on the bedliner with no problems.

Try any of these. Some kits are universal, but you might find a Jeep specific kit.

Amazon - Body plugs in Automotive
Pro tip: if the Amazon plug kit does not contain the size required, simply take a drill and enlarge the hole in the Jeep's bed to accomodate the size of plug you currently have available. Presto!

I use whatever fits from a few sets of universal rubber hole plugs. For the oval holes up by the front tie-downs, I cut plugs from some 3/4" thick medium density closed-cell foam and stuck them in. For the really small holes, I just used black gorilla tape, although sometimes tape doesn't like to stick to the spray-in bedliner.

If the plug is a bit loose, a bit of either clear or black silicone caulk works great.

Is there a company out there who makes a seal kit for the tailgate? If not, what are people using?

A real easy and inexpensive to seal up those openings is to use black Flex Tape. The adhesive on Flex Tape adheres extremely well on either metal, plastic, or spray on bedliner material. The tape is waterproof and should prevent water intrusion. I plugged all of the holes in my Gladiator with this tape and then sprayed some spray on bedliner-in-a can on top. You can hardly tell that the area had been patched. Tape has not peeled or deteriorated even with countless days of 100+ temperatures. No water intrusion either. You can get Flex Tape in the paint department at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Same thing for spray on bed liner.

You can make a dust filter for all the openings by cutting up sponges and soaking them in mineral oil before stuffing them into the voids.

This sounds good, but dangerous at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to keep the dust out, for sure. By plugging up the holes, won’t that cause issues with moisture not able to get out ( like condensation, sweat, … )? For example, my experience with covers, racks and such, is that they all will let some amount of rain in; same for any deep water crossing. So, is the OP really talking about making it better, or is there some risks for going for the full seal here?
