I have a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon 3.6 unlifted with Fuel Ripper wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler tires otherwise stock suspension. When turning right or left I hear a rubbing or popping noise from the front corner in the direction I’m turning. I don’t see any obvious signs of rubbing. Any thoughts?

How big are your tires and what’s the offset on the wheels?

Tires are 35x315x17
I’m not sure what the offset is on the Fuel Ripper wheels. Tires poke out a couple inches. I installed the Jeep Extreme Recon flare extensions. There is no indication that the wheels are rubbing on the fender liners or the extensions. I removed the Euro air dams between the bumper and the fenders.

I have a 2020 JTR and running stock tires and rims. I did hear a popping once in a while but mostly when off road. I checked everything even fender liners for rub marks and found nothing that is until the right side liner caught the tire and ripped a good size peice off the bottom of it while off road and flexed. No more noise but do intend replacing with aftermarket

Looks like the 17 Ripper comes in several configurations.

If you're rubbing somewhere you should be able to see the marks on whatever's being rubbed.

check the torque on your steering box
is there a particular nut or bolt to check? I'm hearing similar sounds only when turning the wheel at low speeds. Checked ball joint torque and issue remains. I'm hearing it above the pitman arm so I'm curious about how to torque the steering box...

If you are hearing above steering box have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you watch the frame where the box bolts to the frame, for flex or broken frame or a bolt that's been stripped.

Do you feel it in the steering wheel?

Just a thought, I had someone give me a love tap when I first got my gladiator. The factor bumper is shit.

I have stock wheels and suspension on my 2020 JTR and had the same popping sound. It got progressively worse. I tightened everything (at least I thought I did). It was hard to locate the source of the noise. I crawled underneath while I had someone move the steering wheel back and forth. Turned out to be a loose pitman arm nut. I put some blue Loctite on it before tightening it back down. Hope yours is something simple. Good luck.
