I’ll be looking for this write up. I’m running a diesel at 126K, and have been showing those codes for a little while. Still runs and still has power and great fuel milage, so I’ve been planning this as a post-season project.
I will get it out after I do the repair next weekend. If you have codes, the valves in the intake aren't working properly and likely causing more restriction on top of the buildup from the EGR and oil vapor. I have don't almost nothing but highway 150+ miles 4-5 days a week ( long sustained drives at temp) and minimal towing of the 111000 miles I have clocked so far. Based on other horror stories online of teardown pictures I fully expect to have intake ports that are was much as half plugged up. Based on the MAF numbers the computer is giving me, I expect mine to be mostly plugged.
At 1/3 throttle I can't get much passed half the air the computer is asking for. those numbers keep their spread at just about any throttle position. Plus I can't keep temps down at all no matter what I'm doing... cruising at 70deg ambient.... 224 water. Post egr and intake air temps are increasing too and the fact my EGR tube buildup is now dry... I have a hot intake from restriction. It's a time bomb that will destroy an eco diesel if not repaired. I will get a post up with documentation of the open chest surgery. I plan to do this next Friday. I think we all and JEEP need to see this shitbox we have been sold that they won't stand behind at all after selling us all on diesel longevity and fuel economy. Mass air flow discrepancy below...with 27 lbs of boost.. Not good at all.

Direct me to one cause I never heard of such a thing
This was laughable too. No dealer will do an unlimited warranty! HA. Find me one that will do it today please. On top of that, find one that will warranty, if this exists with any mods done at all. 35" tires, not covered. Lift kit, Not covered.. I know they did those during the rona to get sales, but they were mostly third party, and garaunteed on the fine print stated any mods beyond stock would void the warranty. Shit, I would imagine Jeeps warranty even has a clause about that...
Oh wait, straight from the warranty:

    • Exclusions:
The warranty doesn't cover wear and tear items, damage from modifications, or issues caused by improper maintenance or misuse.

We have a lifetime warranty dealer near us. $100 deductible per repair. One of my friends has a older JK and it has had 4 cams done at $100 each.

Ours came with it, which is why I purchased from the dealership. CNA provides the warranty.

That's great you have that. But as I said, third party. They all are and that one is only to 8 years in total, and it's not free... :) I'd bet they wouldn't cover me running 42's.. But for fun, I might call and get a quote from them on mine from CNA directly and get the details. Like all insurance, it's full of loopholes to not pay or they would never make a profit. My experience with all of my jeep products I have owned(6 in total), as well as my friends here that have jeeps too, if you make it to 8 years without a major repair, that is when they start and continue. Insurance knows this for sure based on analytics and has it dialed to the minute. All of the plastic under the hood degrades and begins to fail( fuel, water, vacuum, oil coolers etc.). On my last JK, I lost 3 coolers, a fuel line that almost burnt it to the ground, and as you said, also ended up needing an overhead job at the tune of 3000$ at the stealer to do that. That is unfortunately the way cars are designed and built, to be thrown out and repurchased. Designed obsolesence is real in the jeep product.

After 6 pages, the op has probably bought a Toyota lol
I bought a 2020 Tacoma after reading all the horror stories about Gladiators in general plus the diesel ones. I made it 10 months before I couldn't take it anymore and traded it on a 2022 Gladi diesel, and I couldnt be happier. Toyota is boring, the tech is a decade behind everyone else, and the 3rd gen Taco engine/trans combo is atrocious. Piss poor performance, weak components throughout, but they do look good.

Taco's are pigs with lipstick on. With enough makeup on. You can make anything look good.

Did you end up buying one yet or still looking?
[/QUOTE]
Haven't purchased yet. JKUR went on another pretty big adventure through central Utah this weekend, and once again brought me home. 3.6l has its downsides but man I feel like it always gets you home. Still just looking around, I want the diesel but think I'm leaning towards the 3.6 just cause of the familiarity to me. The diesel honestly scares me, don't know much about em, never owned a diesel vehicle. I also will be purchasing used not new, i'd rather be out of warranty with a 3.6l pent then a 3.0 eco. Still deciding honestly.
