Rear Fender "Chop"

Do you have another thread on your finder trim/chop? looks like something I’ve been wanting to do but can’t make up my mind since I have painted fenders. Don’t want to buy new metal liners yet but want to trim/chop for More room with my 37s

I didn’t take pictures while doing it, so no. I would like to go to an aluminum inner fender and keep the outer flares how they are now. I like the look of this better than removing the full lower flare.

I agree... completely removing the lower lip of the flare makes it look thin and unfinished to me. You did good.

I upgraded my Sport S with the 2 piece rubicon fenders so I could do the fender chop. I also installed the Quake LED fender lights and Artec aluminum inner fender liners. I was not happy with the gap on the back of the rear fender so I trimmed off a piece of the fender extension and reinstalled it. It made for a much more finished appearance.

This might be one of the cleanest attempts at this I have seen. Looks like it could have left the factory like this. Well done!

When you reinstalled it, did you just use the factory hardware, or did you use a different method?

Used mostly the original hardware and a few nuts and bolts that were supplied with inner fender liners, but also used some 3M double sided foam tape to fill a gap between flare and that extra lower back piece. Has held up great in all weather.

If anyone has a rear passenger fender flare for the Max Tow and aren't using it, I'd happily take it off your hands. I need to replace mine. I just clipped the grill last night backing up! AARGH! (damn license plate lights!- gotta blame something)

I don't have any.... buuuuut, if you get the tazer it'll turn the license plate lights off for you in reverse
