If I did not get the rear center console USB ports would I already have that wiring installed. If not what is the wiring harness Mopar parts number to hook it up. I am looking at buying the back panel with the ports and installing. I haven't had the time yet to take the console off to check if the wiring is pre-installed. The model number and link to the rear plugs are below.

Im curious about this myself, did some searching and Ive seen lots of people asking this question but not a concrete answer.

This thread on the JL forum has a really good picture of the back of the center console removed, showing the harness connecting to the USB inside the center console glove box and the rear connections as well.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2nd-usb-in-center-console.18060/page-3

If I can find some time Id like to pop the cover off mine and see if those connections are there.
Would be neat to add more plugs, have another place to stash a flashlight charger etc.

If theres a switched 12v line back there, would be handy to use as my signal wire for my next subwoofer install..

I might dig into it tomorrow and see. I will have to see if I can make the time. If I can't get the factory back panel I will just get the 12v and USB plug off Amazon and run power and ground to a 12V accessory add-on plug behind the dash. I really dont need them connected to the stereo for any reason. I was just hoping to use a factory panel but will need the wiring harness.

i was able to take the back panel off. No luck on the pre-wiring harness. Only the USB port inside the console and the rear window switches have wiring. A part number for the rear media harness would be great, for those wanting to add factory ports. I don’t need the power plug wiring, as I will convert that to a 12v plug for my kids stuff.

The console is easy to remove. You maybe don't have wiring to the back, but it's possible there's an empty pigtail up by the arm rest. Or get schematics of where connections are.

Haven't some guys added a USB hub and wired extra ports?

Might have something here. Looks like there is a separate harness for the center console - I think this is the one we'd want, looks like it's for the Rubicon / Sahara / higher trim levels.

Possible we'd be able to swap this in and then plug in the rear media center.

That looks like it would be the part. I will need to find a picture of it and not just a drawing. Plus the $100 price tag is a huge premium for just wiring. Will look on eBay or something or find a salvaged car with it. Thanks for finding this though. A huge help if it is the part.

The stock rear USB ports are for power only, not for any signal connections, according to my manual.

Kevin
All I want is just to have power through the USBs, trying to make it look factory.

Ya I'm thinking it might be a bunch easier to run off the 12vt socket and just run a couple wires in a loom under the console and put in a dual or heck even a quad port.

Something like this:

This is where I first started and then thought if I could do a factory look it would be nicer.

Just a heads up. The rear USB ports are power only. They are not connected to the stereo.
If you mean the ports on the back end of the console facing the rear seats - wrong. It depends on the port you use. I can plug my phone in back there and it jumps into android auto. If I don't want it to do that I have to choose the other port back there.

The port inside the console is absolutely also an AA port - I've put a USB stick in there. So - since it's right back there it's obviously paired with one of the other ports on the very back of the console. I had my phone plugged in back there with android auto active. I know it works as it pisses me off trying to connect when all I want to do is charge or my wife plugs her phone in back there and it wants to connect to her phone.
One is connected, the other charge only.

That's what I just got for Xmas. Just figured I would tap into the power windows connection so it could be power only.

Nope - not on mine. One charges only, the other will absolutely connect android auto. Been there, done that.

Port 1 on mine triggers android auto to pop up on the screen saying it detected a new device
