It's less about how and more about seeing it done. I hope to see a video soon.

@TommyTFL

Love the work you guys do. I thought it was mentioned in one of your videos I watched that you would have a video on the top removal on the Gladiator.
Any updates on that?

Thanks

After they announced the Launch Edition I went out and purchased a Racon ceiling mount lift (based on a previous thread I was pointed to on the Wrangler forum) and hoping this will be a good 1-man solution for removing the Gladwagon top using straps...now I just need to buy a longer ladder to install it as my ceiling is 11’ 6” in the garage ;) http://www.racorstoragesolutions.com/(S(dqyvcebxxw4jibh2rvk4kumh))/p/detail/phl-1r
I like this moniker... gladwagon... when I put a topper on my LE, I may “borrrow” said name.

Finally got some time this weekend to install my Racon hoist for the new Gladwagon (decided I’m going with GLADWGN for my plate...feel free to borrow unless you’re in VT ;))

This thing is pretty sweet and just thankful I didn’t fall during install...definitely could have used an assistant (especially when mounting the arms to my 11’6” ceiling...but at least I had an excuse to buy a taller ladder!). Miraculously all my measurements worked out (the first time too!) and now we patiently wait...either for the delivery or for the lake to warm up!

I went and measured a JT that my dealer has on the lot. It is 114 inches from the back bumper to the front of the hardtop once the freedom panels are removed. It looks like if I remove 36 inches of attic space in my garage I will have room to install my lift.

It will be very close to my garage door opener so I may also need to move it forward a few inches.

I was worried that I was not going to be able to use a lift at all. Looks like a half a days work and I'll be all set.

according to the pics on Amazon you turn one of the corner eye bolts to raise/lower.... something not right there. Also if you are putting the top on the platform you must have like a 12 foot ceiling

There’s actually a gear drive you connect your drill to, not one of the eye bolts. Top actually straps to the bottom of the rack, see https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...del-racor-hoist-and-topsy-bracket-done.13377/ for reference.

I do have 11’ 6” ceilings but there’s guys using this same hoist with much lower ceilings...click through the examples above

Okay, now I see the loop near the 90 gear for raising and lowering. And top under vice on top. Thanks
